Lets see, Cat's 3 conference wins are all late 4th quarter comebacks!

2 of 3 Griz conference wins are blocked field goals in the last seconds of the game!

Are the stars aligning yet again for the showdown????

I know that the 1984 team earned the name of CARDIAC CATS. How many times did they come from behind to win that year?

We are about due for another NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP aren't we.

There is a lot of work to do before the CATS can think about that, but us fans can dream.

I nominate the 2000 Griz for the "Cardiac" title

W 45-38 at Idaho with a one handed TD and :19 on the clock

W 24-20 over Sac State after being down 20-0 at the half on a fumble recovery for a TD with 2 minutes to go

W 34-30 at CSUN with a game winning TD drive and 1 minute to go

W 31-28 at Weber State with an INT in the endzone to save the game

W 19-16 in OT over Appalachian State in the I-AA semifinals

L 25-27 in the national title game to Georgia Southern after being down 20-3 at the half and taking the lead late in the 4th.

anyone else have a few "cardiac" team nominations?

That is the way the griz are...it never ends. We still have three national titles, and a lot more respect because we aren't so full of ourselves. Let me think...weren't the griz students thinking of voting to do away with athletics because they sucked so bad in the 70's? At least when the chips are down, the bobcat fans are ALWAYS there!!! :D

Cardiac Cats was a name given to the 1984 team and they deserved it. Go rip off a name for you Griz somewhere else! Just another case of CAT ENVY!

I'm pretty sure that if you were to look into things more closely, you would find that the griz not only invented the term "Cardiac," but they also can lay claim to the term "First Down," the use of a cannon at games, the tradition of using cheerleaders, the idea to bowl in your stadium, and probably the discovery of the atom. :x :x :x

Don't forget they invented the forward pass.

CRIPES!!!

My aren't we touchy??? This wasn't intended as smack at all. It was a serious thing -- by saying to nominate your cardiac team of all time was serious! That was my nomination....Meaning I wanted to hear more, like maybe the Cardiac Cats of 97?.....22 seconds?? just kidding.....easy there

Way to be sensitive guys, I know smack belongs on the other board.

ESPN keeps refering to the Jacksonville Jags as the Cardiac Cats and Cardiac Jags on tv tonight. I think its safe to say it's a fairly common name and phrase. Then again, maybe its just Jag envy.

it doesn't matter who i am. i'm just funnin you. your a good kid and your youthful enthusiasm commendable. have you ever thought about the fact that all, except one, conference and national titles were won since you have been born. can you imagine what your life would have been like before then. remember, cats have 10 conference titles and 3 national titles, griz have 12 and 2. not much difference.

What exactly is a "Mythical NC"?

Mythical- Imaginary, Fair-tail, storybook

In this case 3 lower division teams finish the season with no loses. 2 go on to win a post season game, 1 goes and ties another team 0-0 (I think) the team with the 1 tie goes down to the local Unversal Athletic store (UAS) and has a trophy made up and claims to be the 1956 National Champions. If I have my story incorrect please correct me I have heard 4 different versions. You must be at least 65 years old before I believe anything you say. I don't believe the Bozeman AD propaganda story.

I don't know anything about what happened in 1956...that's why I was asking what you meant.

Like I said, I'm willing to hear other accounts. I've heard the Bozeman line, (BS) my dads line, (cat guy), the Griz line, (BS but less so than the Bozo version) & a story from some guy in the Newark Airport becouse he found out I'm from Montana. 1956 isn't that long ago you'd think someone could tell you something other than pointing to a banner.
