.... Is pure torture!! Man some how watching them on TV is a little bit more pallatable as I found out two weeks ago, but with sound only at least I was ready to jump out a 20 story building window listening to them.

I watched the first half at home, and enjoyed Dean Alexander's call. I am boycotting the first half of the Cats games until they have a good first half. I'm having a lot more fun showing up at half-time, like the Cats.

My discomfort with the games has little to do with Atterbury job as anouncer and more to do with Fumbles, penalties and general goof up on the fiel. Without actually seeing what is going on on the field there are generally no positive things happening just mistakes.

Atterbury does an excellent job on the radio. The only problem is hearing all the fumbles/penalties is torture!! I think Atterbury is a great radio guy!

Being geographically challenged has forced me to listen to more games this way than watching live in a typical season. It is excruciating at times but sweet at others. This board helps me pass some of the more tense moments.

I will second that emotion!!! Thanks for sharing afternoons WYCAT. I usually sit here and listen and cuss intently to Attebury. I think he does a great job. He is no Dean A, but he is as good a replacement as you could ask for.

While we're on the subject, comments on Atterbury's sidekick, Davies?
Personally, I think he's ok, but doesn't really ADD anything particular to the broadcast.

I don't think he adds much to the broadcast during the game, but that guy is great for Bobcat history and adding stuff in during the low points. Given the choice between Davies or Madden, Davies is a superstar!

I think about the only thing Davies brings to the table is his ties to Bobcat history. His speaking skills are terrible and Kris has to carry him along often during the game. Can't say as I don't like him but let's just say I am glad Kris does about 80% of the talking.
By the way, when Dean retired I didn't think anyone would be able to fill that hole but I have gotten very used to Kris. He way a very good choice and I hope he stays a long time.

I couldn't agree more! At least Davies doesn't ramble on for ten minutes explaining stuff that is obvious to the rest of the world as though he had just found the key to enlightenment. Davies is also much better at figuring out the nature of penalties called during the game.
Ooooohhhh... Madden just grinds on me. What a... an annoying man.

Davies gives the broadcasts some class, history and continuity. Compare him to the counterpart in mazola.
