Big Sky Conference Scheduling

Post by rtb » Wed Apr 28, 2010 10:43 am

This article isn't directly related to this subject as it has more to do with high school tournaments, but many of the comments made by Dan Davies and the BSC make it sound like there is some significant change on the horizon for Big Sky Conference Basketball.

Hum, sounds like a bait-and-switch deal on the part of the Bozeman folks to me, rather than a change in Big Sky scheduling. Of course, the odds are the MSU women won't win the conference and there won't be a conflict to worry about.

Sorry, I realized my comment sounded rather snarky. No reflection on the MSU women's program, I guess my point was the Bozeman civic group may be taking a calculated gamble they won't have to worry about a conflict because, even though I expect MSU's women's team to be good again this year, the odds are still 8-1 against them hosting the tournament.

And just for the record, ISU's women have hosted the tournament a couple of times in the last decade, but again, I wasn't trying to pick a fight with your women's team. They will be very talented this year.

I don't think it is a bait and switch, but I do think they should show in their plans that if MSU ends up hosting they will easily be able to host the championships at the Belgrade Special events center which is a great facility as well.
