Bad road trip for the cats, no doubt...but I don't think it's time to panic yet. The game against ISU was terrible obviously... the parts that I got to see made me wonder whether someone slipped the Cat players (and most of the ISU players) some roofies before the game.

That said...look at how the Griz played @UNC earlier this year. Their O played pretty bad. Look at how the Griz played @ISU in the 2005-2006 season..it was a f'n disaster...same with @Boise State that year. Good teams sometimes play like ******. Pretty sure I was saying the same stuff on eGriz earlier this year when we stunk up the joint offensively at UNC :P

I know the Cats have some glaring problems right now...no consistent post presence, the 3s and FTs not falling, turnovers, etc...but I'm pretty sure a team that has talent like the Cats will finally start clicking and playing to their potential. There's no way Howard is as bad of a shooter as he's been the past couple of games (3-17 tonight). Piepoli is in a slump sure...but do you think he'll continue in that slump throughout the rest of this year? I just don't see that happening.

You guys will make the tournament..I have no doubts about that. I don't see the Cats finishing any worse than 8-8 in the Big Sky this year. If I had to bet, I"d bet you at least finish 9-7, and wouldn't be surprised to see you at 10-6 honestly. With PSU not being eligible, EWU & Sac being downright awful, and ISU not being much better, I just don't see you missing the tournament. Your team has too much talent to continue with the type of play we've seen the past couple of games.

Seriously.. I know tonight was horrible.. but look at the rest of your schedule. Say you drop the game against the Griz next [-o< You have NAU and Weber on the road. Those are tough of course... say you drop those two as well, bringing you to 5-6 on the year. After that you are home against UNC..and the Cats have done a very good job so far at home, so maybe you hand UNC a loss. Even if you drop the game to UNC, at 5-7, you are left playing home vs Sac, @EWU, @PSU, and then at home against Idaho State. With you finishing out the season against Sac, EWU, PSU, and Idaho State, you could be looking at going into the tournament with a pretty nice winning streak (or at least going 3-1 in your last 4 games if you drop one). 9-7 going into the tournament isn't too shabby, and we all know anything can happen in the tourney.

It is pretty sad when the griz fans are the only postitve presence on the board...

it's way easier for them. it has nothing to do with being positive....it has to do with calling it like you see it. crazy things happen so we'll see. but it's not like we're just now coming from nowhere. belgrade and i have been discussing this teams weaknesses and how they would effect us the rest of the year since before conference started. we're simply not a great team, and we have some serious work to do if we want to avoid going one and done in the tourney.

I am not disagreeing with anything that has been said. It's just sad. They do not appear to have any team chemistry. Having Bobby and Danny go a combined 3 for 24, 12.5% is astounding.

sadly bobby has seemed to get worse and worse as his career continues. a friend and i were texting during the game last night and we said it seems like the rest of the big sky pretty much has him figured out. rush is the only guy that looks like he belongs out there much of the time. bobby has been pretty bad. singleton has good stretches but gets out of control often. danny has frankly been a waste much of the season. before when he was making shots you could look past what a liability he is on defense. but now he doesn't make shots either. unfortunately, many games i watch i come away thinking that we have a team full of naia caliber players trying to compete at the d1 level.

there is no reason a division one basketball team shoot shoot as poorly...or turn over the ball as much as we did last night. i mean come on....we couldn't even do what carroll was able to do this season.....beat isu at their place. #-o

I am conservatively guessing that Howard had his shot blocked a dozen times over the last two games. He was going up against legit 7-footers much of the time and that's just too big for him. Against most of the rest of the Big Sky, which is much more undersized than either um or ISU, he fairs much better-and can even dominate. It seems to me he's very stubborn-he kept going at Busema, Selvig, and Qvale despite getting smacked back in his face time and time again. His persistence is admirable, but it's hurting the team in my opinion. It will be interesting to see if any adjustment is made against the griz this weekend.

I'd like to see Huse shake things up. Maybe Piepoli needs to come off the bench? Remember way back in 1996? The team was doing pretty good, but then Durham inserted a skinny freshman named Danny Sprinkle into the starting lineup and things really took off. I don't know if any of our freshmen are Sprinkleesque, but maybe it's time to give Reed or McCall the minutes and see what happens?

Rush needs to be a ball hog. He's the most athletically gifted player we've had since Quadre Lollis. He needs to stay out of foul trouble and start taking more opportunities. Help us Eric Rush...you're our only hope!
