WBB MSU vs. PSU

Post by TomCat88 » Sun Jan 01, 2012 12:20 am

MSU wins 95-83 over PSU, which was picked to win the BSC by the coaches and media, in Portland. I don't have much for details. They were up 53-39 at halftime and shot almost as well from the field as they did from the line. 49% - 57%. Bussey had 26 pts, 8 assists, four steals. Banis and Semansky went nuts hitting a combined 17 of 22. Semansky had 14 boards. Lanz had 27 and 13 for PSU.

Watched quite a bit of it on Big Sky TV. Played lights out offensively for most of the way. Got a little scary late in the second half-PSU got within about 6, but then MSU pulled away. Good thing shots were falling because there wasn't a lot of defense being played. Bussey was brilliant on the offensive end. They had no answer for Banis inside.

Good win!

I haven't been following PSU very closely, but getting a win over the pre-season No. 1 on the road a couple days after losing your conference opener is some damn good medicine.

A very impressive win. I was following the play by play on espn and it looked like Portland was getting back into it but the ladies did a great job of holding them off. A split on this trip wasn't unexpected but the way it happened was backwards.

Cutting the turnovers down from 28 to 8 had to help. I think we cut the lead down to 4 vs. EWU at one point despite all that. It was 13 at halftime and I don't know if it was ever more than that.
