Re: If it weren't for bad luck...
UPDATE: In the week since this happened, the Mo Fall situation has gotten plenty of attention. CBSSports' Matt Norlander weighed in http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketb ... a-decision, as did Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Eisenberg http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the ... 16041.html and Raphielle Johnson of NBCSports/Collegehoops.net http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports. ... nior-year/. I even cold-called Eisneberg during his & Bruce Pearl's SiriusXM college hoops show to talk a little about it. I'm trying to get Brad Huse on the horn to get his reaction about the 15 minutes of fame, so to speak, MSU is getting because of this. Obviously it's a relatively unfortunate reason MSU is being put in the spotlight, but it's a reason that matters nonetheless and goes on because of the NCAA's bureaucratic process.

Thank you so much for posting this and going through this effort. I hope this can grow into something that catches more attention. It's asinine to put Mo and MSU through this and when you compare it to the Notre Dame situation, it makes me want to vomit. Keep us all updated please!Gidal Kaiser wrote:UPDATE: In the week since this happened, the Mo Fall situation has gotten plenty of attention. Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

A hard-working guy with a good story wants to compete and stay in school. If MSU's next 15 minutes is a story centered on that guy, it could be a lot worst.Gidal Kaiser wrote:UPDATE: In the week since this happened, the Mo Fall situation has gotten plenty of attention. The last time MSU basketball got 15 minutes, it was because a player murdered a guy. This puts MSU in a sympathetic position and a positive light.

Yes, thanks for getting this stuff out there Gidal. Good work. Looks like Jay Bilas has put in his two cents on ESPN. He really rips the NCAA.

I saw that. Great to have him on board with this as well.[cat_bracket] wrote:Yes, thanks for getting this stuff out there Gidal. Good work. Looks like Jay Bilas has put in his two cents on ESPN. He really rips the NCAA.

The unfortunate part of this is that all the negative publicity usually does nothing but cause the NCAA to dig in their heels a little deeper because "we are the NCAA and we will show you that you can't make us look bad."

I'll have the audio from Huse up today, and I'm going to see if I can get Fall on the horn. Also, the column will be in Sunday's paper.

http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/ap ... s/?p=10526 A little more about how the Fall situation -and my Sunday column - got 15 minutes of fame nationally. It also has full audio of both interviews.

Mo Fall certainly comes out of all of this looking very impressive. He has handled all of this with great class, I have been very impressed with him. Surely that is the type of attitude and person that will land on his feet, even with the stupidity of the NCAA.
Glad to see also that people nationally are taking notice. Maybe at the very least this could help kids in this situation in the future.
