Re: GFT Huse interview
They gave Huse credit for making the tourney for 7 consecutive seasons, but considering that 2/3 (approximately) of the teams make it, that's not really a major accomplishment. I think the pressure on Huse will be huge this season, as the expectations should be very high. I mean, how long has it been since we've had 4 returning starters? If he doesn't get it done this year, I can't believe anyone would still be an advocate for him keeping his job. Although with a 2-year deal, it's almost guaranteed that he'll be around at least one more year, regardless of how well (or how poorly) we do this season. I still think it was sort of strange that Fields extended his contract for 2 years. If he really believed in Huse, why didn't he give him a 3-year deal? If not, why didn't he sign him for just one more year? I would think there must be some pressure on Huse to stop the bleeding in attendance too, which last season was the lowest in 35 years.Hawks86 wrote:http://www.greatfallstribune.com/articl ... tate-hoops

Re: GFT Huse interview
I suspect the uncertainty regarding the status of Huse is more closely related to the fact that he's brought in some guys who struggled academically and a couple who made the paper for breaking into cars. I doubt Huse is under all that much pressure based on losing records and low attendance. The athletic department was satisfied with that kind of return from the football program for almost fifteen years.John K wrote:I still think it was sort of strange that Fields extended his contract for 2 years.
