That's about what I was.expecting. There's clearly a very, very wide gulf this season between the Top 3 and the rest of the league, as evidenced by MSU's 8-game streak of blowout wins before they ran up against ISU last weekend.

Well so much for me thinking the griz were gelling, of course that's what happens to jello when it's under heat and pressure.

It seems like everyone's just sorta guessing about the parameters for determining the BSC tournament seeding. Has the league really not put out any announcements about how seeding will be determined? I just assumed it would be based on winning percentage, regardless of the disparity in the number of games played, and then with the normal tiebreakers applied, as applicable, i.e. head to head, record against teams ahead of you in the standings, etc, but I don't know that for a fact. Even though that's not really fair, particularly with regard to SUU, having played so few games compared to all the other teams, and none of the top four teams. Really though, how else are you gonna do it? Fair or not, that seems like the best option. I just don't like the idea of the BSC trying to subjectively evaluate the various teams' strength of schedules, and then seeding them based upon that. The Cats goal is to win the tourney championship, and it seems like they'll probably have to beat both UI and ISU somewhere along the way to accomplish that goal, no matter their seeding, so ultimately the seedings probably aren't all that important. It also seems like teams such as SUU that had to cancel a lot of games should be penalized in same way, but again, I'm not sure that's really feasible. You certainly don't want any teams trying to hide potential outbreaks, just to avoid being seeded lower for the tourney.

And the lady griz got BLOWN OUT tonight by 30... And surprised the guy griz, to me anyway, surprisingly beat the Vandals...Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 9:37 pmIt would really suck if the women didn't win out at Sac and truly be a dirty rotten shame. I haven't watched the Griz since we destroyed them but keep wondering if they might be developing and gelling as the season has progressed. It would be surprising if they went better than .500 in their last 4 games but I almost expect that they will win 1 of those 4 games. With all the virus problems that SUU has had it makes one wonder if they haven't followed good protocol measures very well.
Dang it would be nice to be watching the ladies beat the Vandals right now. I feel bad for Tori as a senior and any parents that had made plans to be at the final home game weekend.
Edit to say that it's awesome that there will be senior recognition after all even without a game.![]()

They put out a tweet yesterday giving us the current seedings at that time. MSU was the 3-seed at 11-3 behind Idaho at 13-3, so winning percentage is definitely used to separate teams with the same number of losses but different numbers of games played. SUU was seeded dead last and there was a note that any team that plays fewer than 10 games automatically gets seeded at the bottom. SUU, if its final weekend of games is not cancelled, would get to 11 games played and would then be seeded based on winning percentage. Given that they have cancelled all their games against the top teams and played against the likes of Sac State and Weber, I am guessing that the top 3 are all quite hopeful that SUU gets matched up with them in the quarterfinal round!John K wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 10:34 pmIt seems like everyone's just sorta guessing about the parameters for determining the BSC tournament seeding. Now is the time for the lady griz to pull one out of the hat and beat ISU.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

The Griz looked horrible last night. I’m expecting more of the same on Saturday! Disappointing ending to a weird regular season! I’m glad our team has the chance to play Sacramento before the tourney!Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 9:37 pmIt would really suck if the women didn't win out at Sac and truly be a dirty rotten shame.
