Belo- 8 Blocks vs. SUU! what is the record?

Post by mslacatfan » Sat Mar 13, 2021 10:03 am

Somehow this seemed to fly under the radar in yesterdays game. But Belo had 8 frickin blocks!!! just a monster effort!

Got me thinking, this has to be close to the record for blocks in a Big Sky Tournament game, right??? At least top 10 or so?

Anyone know how to look this up?

According to the Big Sky Media Guide the record for blocks in a game is 10, and Belo is now tied with several others for second most with 8. None of the 8 block games were in the tournament based on their dates. The 10 block game was in 1976 and doesn't have a date listed, so not sure if that was a tournament game or not.

Colton Pool's article also mentioned it is a school record.

Gotta go further in the media guide. It is a record. Kelvin Smith from Idaho had 7 in a semifinal game against Nevada.

The overall record is 10, but eight puts him tied with six other guys in 2nd place, including Divaldo Mbunga in 2009.
