I thought seniors showed leadership in Huddles and encouraging young guards after a mistake, but we don't have that player yet that can have ball in their hands and take control of game. Will have to be team effort.

I get this was the first game, but didn’t like how we crumbled. We need a leader on this team that’s willing to take over when needed. Darian is gone…… is there a junior or senior leader?
Without knowing anyone personally on the team, I can answer half of that. There are *no* juniors on the team, so no leadership there. And let me hazard to say, the greatest value in Mad-Jack-Hall returning is her leadership, especially in the locker room. As she plays herself back, I expect to see more of her leadership on the court as well.

Good analysis. I was only able to watch second half so 4th quarter probably skewed my view. So many moves inside where they did the lobg steps with extended arms trying to get a layup to fall or draw co tact that either didn't come or wasn't called. Clean those up to get a better look and hit some outside shots we are right there at the end.
I’ve said this before, and I’ll probably keep it up until it changes, so bear with me please.. Unless it was dictated completely by BYU’s defense, many (most) of those long-step drives to the basket came with the left hand, the off hand for most except Taylor who is left-handed. Like most non-bionic, mere mortal humans, their off hands are not as strong as their dominant hand in shooting a layup and controlling it, especially into bumping or arm contact. I counted at least four in a row of those in the 4th quarter, all misses. If it’s the other team forcing us, then we need some play sets to counteract and give us more dominant-hand shots. Ok, I’ll try very hard not to mention this until at least the beginning of conference season..

I really love this team. There is a ton of depth once again (except maybe PG) but I wish the injury bug would go away. I am so happy they are back playing again! Go, ‘Cats! 💙💛😺
