Cats lose a tough one 79-78 where they battled the refs, technicals, a tough DU defense, poor shooting, and first half turnovers. This was one of the weirdest/worst refereed college basektball games I have ever watched. Cats battled back from down 21 with about 13' left in the 2nd half and had a perfect call drawn up for BJ Kolly who rimmed out a last second shot to win the game.
Cats also shoot 1-10 from 3 which was probably the most surprising thing to come from this game. Cats looked to move the ball and get the ball inside more which is very nice to see. The identity of the offense is still something to be concerned about. Still seems like Logie is trying to find out what lineups he likes which is a blessing and a curse when you have so much depth on the bench.
This was very much a winnable game if the Cats make their FT's and hit their shots and play a little better defense in the 1st half. Hard to discredit their fight in the 2nd half though. It'll be interesting to see which Bobcats team shows up Tuesday night @ Northwestern.

You summed it up well! Down 20 finish with a 17-2 run and miss a well run out of bounds play for the win and it’s no good!Desert_Bobcat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 5:43 pmCats lose a tough one 79-78 where they battled the refs, technicals, a tough DU defense, poor shooting, and first half turnovers. Sigh...non-conference don't matter...non conference don't matter...non conference don't matter.
Might take a little while with this group.

Re: MBB vs Denver
I wasn't able to watch any of the game today but looks pretty weird based on the box score only! Only 10 3-point attempts today after launching 43 at Wichita State. Free throw shooting appears to have been the difference with Denver going a remarkable 29-31 for 94% as a team.
I did watch the final play on the YouTube highlights and Kolly's last shot would have been waved off had it gone in. With only 0.2 seconds left the rules say that you can only score on a tip-in and can't gain possession of the ball before shooting.
