MBB vs. UmKC
Real blue collar kind of game so far. I have to say the Cats are playing very tough on D. Up 20-13 with 9 minutes left in the first half .

Pretty standard half. Cats up 11 against a tough defensive team. Cats are lucky Kansas City is shooting 26% from the field because they could very easily be down 10 if KC hits their shots. I will preach it until the cows come home. Giving up 7 offensive rebounds in a half is simply unacceptable. Walker has given up at least 3 himself. The collective rebounding effort is so poor and it will make games that shouldn’t be competitive (this game) and turn it into a knockdown drag out. Props to KC, they hustle hard and crash the glass.

Seems they took a step in the right direction with this game. Walker did lots of great things, but he sure is in a free throw slump..2/10 or something? Jed showed lots of hustle.

He hit 2 at the end to finish at 3-8. Definitely is going to need to shoot better than that though as the season progresses. He had a really nice stretch offensively at the beginning of the second half and also made a few nice passes, which was good to see. Overall I thought MSU looked pretty inconsistent tonight, you can tell that Logie is trying to experiment with lineups and get the bench guys plenty of playing time out there. Kansas City came in 0-7 against D-1 opponents and was playing without their leading scorer tonight, so this was definitely an expected result.

UMKC has a lot of pesky players who got us playing ugly at times, so Logie countered with our biggest pest, Jed Miller, who created havoc for them. Jed was brilliant. Lead was around 10 and then Walker and Pat McMahon put together a little burst and the lead was almost 20. Good D-1 win-definitely a team we should beat.

Jed was awesome, too bad he couldn't score but defensive effort like that will earn him plenty of playing time. I'm still surprised that Goracke isn't playing more, but maybe Logie knows exactly what he can do and wants to give some other guys more opportunities during non-conference play.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:53 pmUMKC has a lot of pesky players who got us playing ugly at times, so Logie countered with our biggest pest, Jed Miller, who created havoc for them.
