Alex Jensen undercut Danny on a break-away layup. It was a really cheap shot and turned him upside-down in the air. He landed on a shoulder and required surgery. It may even still bother him. It was an ugly play, about as scary as the hit on KJ Limardo (Martin) last year in the gris game. I’ve never heard a crowd boo as loudly, and it was a big crowd. The Weber coach left Jensen in the game, and he was loudly booed each time he touched the ball. I guess it was “payback” for Danny’s incredible 30-point Big Sky-winning performance against Weber at the end of the previous year.aucat wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 11:10 amInteresting, thanks!DwaineF wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:27 amTo answer Aucat's Weber St question, Sprinkle was flagrantly fouled in a game vs Weber St that ended his season. ( Sophomore year I believe.) I got to meet coach at his basketball camp and we got around to discussing that particular play. I could sense a bit of angst in him about that play. Weber was also the consistent powerhouse Big Sky team in those days. So I guess what I am saying, Weber St was almost as big a game as UM.

Re: Basketball attendance
I'm impressed/surprised that we outdrew UM by 500 fans on Saturday night. They've always been considered much more of a basketball school than MSU. And Weber has always been considered to be THE basketball school in the BSC, and we outdrew them by 1,400, which is more than 50% higher. When you look at it in that context, we actually look pretty good.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 8:30 pmAttendance numbers for yesterday's games:
PSU @ MSU - 3,846
SAC @ UM - 3,344
EWU @ WSU - 2,426
UI @ ISU - 1,729
NAU @ UNC - 1,653
Student attendance has definitely been better since classes started for Spring semester. Overall MSU is looking pretty good, maybe not if you compare the numbers to what they were 30 years ago but definitely if you compare them to what other Big Sky games are drawing these days. Plenty of room to grow but this is pretty good for a team that had not been playing up to its potential for most of the season until the last few weeks.

Re: Basketball attendance
Weber's attendance has been really down, which is in close correlation to their talent this year.John K wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 12:50 pmI'm impressed/surprised that we outdrew UM by 500 fans on Saturday night. Re: Basketball attendance
I'm conflicted... season ticket holders are the lifeblood of a team... but why do we have so many not show up? The lower section middle is 98% sold on ticket site but often 50-60% full at most games.
