Indeed, she's a talented player but kind of got buried on the depth chart at MSU. Given her personal circumstances I can see why she might want to be closer to family if that played into it at all. Best of luck to her!

One of the best interviews I've read in the past year or two. Absolutely the best of luck for her. Great person.

Dang, I never like when former Bobcats transfer within the Big Sky. But she'll definitely get more playing time there in front of Weber State's massive crowds (at least the bus driver has to stick around for the whole game...)

It’s like Yogi said, “If they aren’t going to come to the game, how are you going to stop them”? Weber used to be among the best at WBB — but it’s been a long time. I think they had one or two really bad coaching hires. The fans disappeared along with the wins. Nothing that a few 30-win seasons wouldn’t fix.

The Weber women's team average 394 fans per game last season. I guess she could watch the Weber mens team play. The Weber men get a lot more love at around 2700 (down from around 4800 per game just a year ago) fans per game, about 350 more fans than the Bobcat MSU women's team averaged this past season.

I don't think this is about her going to somewhere with fan support. She had a tragedy in her life last year and it's not uncommon for people to make big changes when that happenes.

Re: Hannah Robbins in portal
I’m sure she had a good conversation with Coach Bin — I think she’d do her best to let a player know where she stood. The more I watched Hannah, I understood why she’d been named the pre-season freshman of the year for the MWC. She is not without some skills and jumps very well.
By the numbers, we had 15 players which included Lindsey Hein, three seniors (Lexi, KJ, Taylor) and two escapees (Marah and Natalie). That leaves just nine players with Hannah. Two or three of those players would seem to not be as skilled as Hannah — just my own opinion is three. Anyway that puts Hannah at either #6 or #7 on the rotation. I don’t think all four incoming freshmen will be in the top-10 rotation. Likely two will make it. That leaves Hannah in a good spot to get the 16-18 minutes that the “bench” usually gets. That’s really good minutes on a really good team. She might get 36 minutes at Weber, but not a chance of a return trip to the tournament.
The wildcard here is who does Coach Bin find at the final four? I’d expect transfer news pretty soon if there is to be any. With four sub 6-foot guards coming in, I’m thinking one or two “talls”.
I do hope she can settle in there — happiness wins every game. Seems to be a deserving person, and I think, a player that should garner a Big Sky Honorable Mention before she’s done.

My guess (and only a guess) is playing time. I think Hanna has a chance to be a featured player.
I wish her well.

Just a couple corrections on your numbers. We had 15 players this year but that number did NOT include Lindsey Hein. Lindsey was a student manager helping the team but she was not in the roster. (Roster was Drea, Brooke, Hannah, Teagan, Issy, Ella, Lexi, Marah, Addison, Taylee, Esme, Taylor, Dylan, Nat, and KJ). Also, Lexi Deden is returning next year….this has been reported in Cat Chat by herself and also has been discussed in several news reports.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 2:44 pmI’m sure she had a good conversation with Coach Bin — I think she’d do her best to let a player know where she stood. So off our 15 person roster we lose seniors Taylor, KJ, Esme and transfers Hannah, Natalie, Marah cutting our roster down to 9.
We have 4 great freshmen coming in Bailey, Hintz, Couture, and Philip. We have 2 openings which the Coach can fill with transfers or late high school commits….this also assumes we don’t lose more in the portal before it closes.
I think you can wonder if Dylan, Brooke, Lexi and Drea will be fully ready to play by the time season starts. And certainly you can wonder how many of the new freshman crew can make significant contributions on the court….but their resumes sure look strong…I’m anxious to see how they compete at D1 level. I did like to watch Hannah when she got minutes on the court and there was a reasonable chance she could have gotten more playing time this coming year but there is also a lot of talent in front of her that maybe would have resulted in limited time on the court. I suspect several of the new freshmen could have beat her out for more time. I think she could see that. I also think Hannah has a good chance of getting more time at Weber.
