Re: Bounce back time
Griz just 3 games into learning to play without Mack Konig. They're making headway.

Re: Bounce back time
Our ladies gave up 29 points in the 4th quarter and Coach Bin was NOT a happy camper about that. Gotta play four quarters ladies!
Yes, don't expect anything other than a huge struggle when we have to go to Missoula. Finally, I hear all these complaints about the announcers. It is SO easy to simply tune the broadcast in on your Iphone. Just load the app, either the AM station 1450 or 103.5 FM and tune it in. The broadcast on your phone will be slightly ahead of the video. Pause the video until you have the synced up and then you're good to go. That way you don't have to listen to these horrible HOMERS. Now, last night I thought the two guys who did the men's game did just fine so it didn't bother me.
Got some tough games coming up so get out and get your butts in the seats. Go Cats!

Agree on the announcers, Ian does a fantastic job calling the ESPN+ broadcasts for home games but the road announcers can definitely be of widely varying quality. The NAU guy and the announcers for the Weber men (usually Tony Parks and Joe Cravens who also call the Big Sky Tournament games) are particularly good. But there are other options out there to listen to the Bobcat announcers if the TV broadcast annoys you! And it's no surprise you thought the men's announcers last night were good since the play-by-play guy was Ben Creighton who also calls MSU football. The color guy is Jeff Riggs who is a former MSU player.aucat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 1:33 pmOur ladies gave up 29 points in the 4th quarter and Coach Bin was NOT a happy camper about that. Re: Bounce back time
Yeah ISU hot shooting on Thurs. against Cats FG 57.7% 3pt 53.8% FT 80%
ISU came back to earth against Griz today FG 37.1% 3pt 27.8% FT 71.4%
ISU on the year: FG 40.4% 31.7% FT 72.0% so they definitely had a hot night against us. We had ten more shot attempts, and ten fewer made buckets. However, they played great D , especially against Taylee, and won without Tasia Jordan for much of the game so full credit to them.

Re: Bounce back time
Carla Taylor spent a lot of time saying nice things about the ‘Cats. She was knowledgeable as always. She praised the ‘Cats for everything except their free throw shooting which is not praise-worthy at this time. She talked about Taylee and Teagan being track athletes in high school and how it showed in the court. She clearly likes Addison as a player a lot. Talked about Ella and how she doesn’t look to score much, but is so good on defense. And she had plenty of superlatives for Jamison playing at a high level for a freshman. I just finished watching the game for a second time as my wife missed the original and I was bribed with homemade pizza to watch it with her.
Would you rather listen to Carla Taylor or Krista Redpath? My fading mind says Carla, all day.
Did anyone catch Hannah’s attempts to kick Taylee in the groin area?

Re: Bounce back time
I think Carla was fairly frustrated with many of the plays Weber was making, and the coach inside of her couldn't help herself. They made so many sloppy bounce passes and lob passes that fell right into Bobcat hands, it was hard for her not to want to coach in the moment. If you watched the game back I'm sure you saw what she was referring to.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:27 amCarla Taylor spent a lot of time saying nice things about the ‘Cats. I also felt like Hannah played at a different speed than the rest of that team, and when her teammates didn't elevate to match she got fairly frustrated. I don't recall the groin kick specifically, but it seems like she was definitely getting a bit rough.

No question, Carla 24/7/365 over Krista. She is so much more knowledgeable and objective than Krista ever thought of being. At least Ben was able to try and slightly balance it out. I really would like to see Kola Bad Bear team up again with Daniel Salle or partner with Ben for Bobcat home games.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:27 amCarla Taylor spent a lot of time saying nice things about the ‘Cats. Re: Bounce back time
Oh, 100% on Coach Taylor’s coaching — that’s her. I guess I didn’t take that as homer-ism, but analysis. Just a matter of style, maybe. To me, homers say no bad, have excuses for everything, and blame luck or the game officials for everything else. I kind of enjoyed a more unvarnished view. In fact, I thought the Weber coaching got a few soft shots from some of the “box out” and “soft pass” and especially “quit running the play and see the floor” comments. Coach Taylor did get excited when they mounted a pretty good comeback in the fourth — but I’ll give the “color” guy a lot more latitude than the “play by play guy” who should stick to the facts, particularly on ESPN+.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 8:36 amI think Carla was fairly frustrated with many of the plays Weber was making, and the coach inside of her couldn't help herself. Interesting to note some of the game superlatives they commented on. Nine ‘Cats dropped three-pointers. And after Lanae Billy scored 22 in the first half, she was held to 0 shots in the second half. Go, ‘Cats.
Late in the game as Hannah naturally became a bit frustrated, they were un-piling from another multi-vehicle pileup in the paint. Hannah, who was on her back, aimed half a dozen kicks at Taylee’s legs, two of the kicks going too high. Taylee, to her credit, never blinked as she stepped to the line. The ability of this team to ignore the “noise” and focus on playing is a real credit to the coaching staff, as well as the character of the players. It’s easy to be a fan.

Re: Bounce back time
I think you are giving ESPN too much credit. This is in most cases picking up someone local or a few people to cover the broadcast. In many cases this is the local radio team that does both. It's definitely a home broadcast, and it's much better than it used to be. As others have mentioned, it's a bit of a pain but you can sync up the radio call to the game to hear Daniel Salle, who wears many hats for MSU but is part of the coaching staff, and is most definitely partial to MSU, and really does a great job.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:44 pm
