I thought she had been in crutches? Her sister had a game tonight!
Also, LOVE watching Issy Bunyan celebrate making 3's. I mean our sign maker extraordinare should make one to the effect...."3 for Isssy!"

I was just going to comment on that. I’ve never seen her as fired up, and it looks good on her. That fist she threw down after the 25-footer from the right side was a thing of beauty. Might have had a little personal energy behind it.
Versteeg has not impressed. She has 107 turnovers on the year! Her 99 assists gives her an Assist/Turnover ratio of 0.9. Our very own Jamison’s ratio is 1.5! If you throw a lot of passes around you can get a lot of assists, but that ratio is the game winner.Will23C1982 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 12:16 amBenthe Versteeg (All-Big Sky 1st Team last year) forced into 8 turnovers and 0 assists.
What an incredible performance from the Bobcats. A penny for Picton’s thoughts!
In a strange way, I think Heidi’s injury has been good for Courtney. She certainly has received more minutes of game time and her play (confidence) is noticeably improving.
I was watching the Weber replay this morning. Shes balling out right now.imacat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 2:18 pmIn a strange way, I think Heidi’s injury has been good for Courtney. She certainly has received more minutes of game time and her play (confidence) is noticeably improving.
I would be interested in seeing every starting PG in the conference 's ratio. I think you could say the best in the league are George from NAU, Mack Konig(who's injured), and Jasmison. And honestly I love Brianne Bailey too. She's a floor general.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 11:52 amVersteeg has not impressed. She has 107 turnovers on the year! Looking at players averaging 2 or more assists per game, the only two in the Big Sky with assist/turnover ratios better than Jamison's 1.52 are Hope Hassmann of Idaho (1.6) and Kacey Spink of Idaho State (1.68).lutecat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 3:20 pmI would be interested in seeing every starting PG in the conference 's ratio. Issy has SICK celebrations for sure! I'll work on it!
I don't know. The announcer for the game was....ok....Will23C1982 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 4:04 pmI know the Sacramento State game is yesterday's news (actually, Thursday's), but I only just had the chance to watch it and wanted to make some observations:
- I really liked the commentator. Seemed to be unbiased compared to others I've heard recently. I liked his plug for No More Stolen Sisters at the end - seemed like a cause he really cares about.
- Brianne Bailey really impressed me. She's a great athlete, strong and explosive, but highly skilled too. I think she's going to be a hell of a player.
- Addison Harris's post moves remind me of Kevin McHale. So many twists and turns, and yet she ends up making tough shots fall as if they were easy.
- I actually thought Sacramento State played pretty good defence at times... which really isn't reflected in the box score. The Bobcats made so many tough shots. Meanwhile, the Bobcats' defence was on another level. They're simply relentless. It's a joy to watch.
Well, that’s awkward!lutecat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 5:28 pmI don't know. @SACCAT is awesome
Don’t ever apologize for slipping into radio a little.SACCAT wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 12:15 pmAahhh... My wife just said "OH God, your going to get an even bigger head now...."
1) I really appreciate the kind words. My job is to broadcast the game for the Big Sky, not for MSU (even though MSU is who I work for) so I am glad that comes across. It's never going to make everyone happy, and that's totally cool. My goal every broadcast is to make anyone watching feel I care about both teams.
2) This is just a "job" for me, it is a dream come true. Born and raised in Bozeman, and having absolutely no athletic ability, my dream was to call games for MSU.
3) The home MSU broadcasts on TV are different than any other TV broadcast in Big Sky (that I am aware of). Other schools use the radio feed for the TV broadcast, hence why my calls are different that those. Radio, you have to talk through every play, every pass, everything... I have always done radio until this gig, so I slip back into that mode at times.
I will end by saying that the Montana PBS crew that I work with is truly the best in the Big Sky. We are so fortunate to have them, and they should not be overlooked. It truly is a great time to be a Bobcat.
All good. Outside of Cat/grizLLies the home team's guy or woman is on the call.Will23C1982 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 11:46 pmWell, that’s awkward!lutecat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 5:28 pmI don't know. I could have sworn it was the Hornets’ announcer, since he knew their players so well. Just goes to show that a) I don’t get to watch enough full broadcasts on tape and b) that SACCAT really is as unbiased as I suggested!
I liked the fact he didn’t feel the need to talk constantly, which might sound silly, but moments of quiet and calm allow the game to do the talking. He says just the right amount.
Brianne is also good around the basket. She's exceptional on the fallaway, over the shoulder, hook, and one handed putback shots.Will23C1982 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 4:04 pmI know the Sacramento State game is yesterday's news (actually, Thursday's), but I only just had the chance to watch it and wanted to make some observations:

Thanks for spotlighting this. I was just thinking about these shots. Every kid growing up when I was (8th grade 1962) had or at least attempted to learn these. Adding in the backboard, all of these provide an advantage in height. You can shoot these over a taller player, or get fouled trying. Maybe it’s old school — but it’s good school. She’s starting to feast on these moves. I wonder if she had taller brothers or something? Or shot a lot alone? It takes lots of reps to get good at these, but they are dynamite.Helcat72 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 6:01 pmBrianne is also good around the basket.
