Re: Basketball random stuff
Former Sac State women's coach Mark Campbell, who took the Hornets to the Big Sky tourney title in 2023, has TCU in the elite eight. They're 30-3. Pretty impressive. I don't think TCU was known as a women's hoops power.

That was all tongue-in-cheek my friend.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 12:28 pmYes on the bolded area. Well, Cotie McMahon of the 1 and only Ohio state university of the Big 18 conference has used the transfer portal software to add her name to the transfer pool.
I’d think she’s everything they are looking for, and Coach Bin might help her with a little ‘tude tuneup. She is quite obviously following the Angel Reese path of notoriety to a mini-fortune as a WNBA entertainer. If you can’t outplay them, then upstage them.
Cotie McMahon isn't about to come to MSU.

Pretty cool season highlight video for WBB from the Big Sky Conference. Plenty of great SACCAT announcing moments as well, thank goodness he isn't entering the portal.

It actually isn’t your fault. I get such a big kick out of everyone talking about “entering” the transfer portal, like it’s a door or a secret entrance to a cavern. It’s a basic misuse of the IT terminology of a “Web Portal.” I always picture athletes connecting their computer to the transfer site, and then, quick as Alice, hopping over the keyboard and disappearing into the NCAA-created netherworld — the Transfer Portal!
In reality, a web “portal” is a specially created internet site and associated software that meets a list of very specific criteria. If it fails to meet even one requirement, then it’s just another web site. I’d have to review the transfer portal web site to see if it is really a portal. I was going to impress you that I know this by saying my boss wrote the book on portals — and then I realized he actually did write the book on portals!

Don’t bump your head on the portal on the way out.

Re: Basketball random stuff
I am sure there is NO WAY that on the air next year Ian Laird will say something like "I have something to get off my chest... Montana State has a fan message board called "Bobcat Nation", the fans talk about all sorts of things, but one of the main topics is the Transfer Protal.. Well, after the Basketball season, I jokingly posted on Instagram that I would not be entering the portal, and would instead be staying and saying names wrong here in Bozeman.. Well that ended up getting posted on Bobcat Nation, and one poster, by the name of "bobcat4ever" decided to make a fat joke, and say that I probably couldn't fit in the Portal, and to that man I say _____________."Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 6:24 pmYou are such a good guy, I couldn’t resist.SACCAT wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 4:42 pmBobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:09 amI thought he was going to enter the portal, but wouldn’t fit.![]()

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

I think you missed the point. . . . What we really want is for that same Ian Laird to do a deep dive into what the exact dimensions of the transfer portal are. How does one fit into the portal? Is it a matter of size? Age? Eligibility? Ratio of remaining hair follicles to those that have thrown in the towel? Number of college degrees? Secret handshake? So many important basic facts missing from the collective portal knowlege base.SACCAT wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 8:49 amI am sure there is NO WAY that on the air next year Ian Laird will say something like "I have something to get off my chest...
