Ok watching that press conferences:

Dylan Phillips face mights up when she smiles and its really hard not to smile when you see it.

Mute the audio and watch the expressions and body language of everyone and I bet you can't tell who won the game. The griz seemed just as up as the Cats. The griz girls are obviously having way more fun than before Holsinger gets "fired". I think they look like they're obviously responding to Nate.

Super interesting to talk about the x's and o's like about the difference between Esme playing at PSU and here.

Listening to Nate talk and especially how he chokes up a little talking about Coach Bin and the respect and the fun going up against her. I hope he gets the job permanently. The griz have too much talent on their team for the game to be anything other than what was played. He's the anti-bh and the rivalry would be so much cooler to have coaches like thay.

I'm just going to point out that Mack Konig called it Cat/Griz! Not gris/cat. Lol
Yeah Dylan Phillips can be seen smiling lots of times during games and during breaks in the action. She looks like she's just living her best life out there. She's not the only one on the team looking like that either. They're a fun team to watch.
I was talking about in the press conference but yes all of them look like they have fun out there.
90% of the time yesterday during a substitution or timeout, the girls would be smiling, the bench would be cheering and on occasion of course, a player would be winded. Huge effort by the team and they are truly having a lot of fun. Winning plays a big role, and the chemistry feeds off of that as well. Who can ask for more? Go Lady Cats!

The chemistry on our women's team appears to be fantastic. That's a huge ingredient for winning.

I despise the Griz, and have absolutely no respect for Hauck. However, I have to admit that I like both Travis Decuire and Nate Harris. Both seem like high-class men. These kinds of guys make the rivalry fun and competitive rather than fueled by hatred.

Agreed, all four basketball coaches are 100% professional and nothing but respectful of the other teams. Refreshing to see the difference between them and Bobby's antics. Of course, it helps when one pair of coaches grew up together and attended the same high school and the other pair of coaches formerly worked together on the same staff.

ESPN's women's bracketology and Net Rankings of each team (as of 1/27)

Last 4 Byes: Oregon (37), Illinois (38), Minnesota (29), Harvard (33)
Last 4 In: Iowa State (40), Iowa (36), Virginia Tech (49), Washington (54)
Last 4 Out: St. Joseph's (51), Princeton (47), George Mason (45), Clemson (62)
Next 4 Out: Stanford (44), Florida (58), Arizona (57), Boston College (73)

MSU Is #65. We all hope MSU runs the table including the tournament but dare to dream! Of course it's highly unlikely but this is as close as the Big Sky has been in a very long time to at least being considered for an at-large bid.

The last team with this good of a resume (thus far) was Northern Colorado women in 2018. That team went 26-7 overall and 15-3 in league on the way to an 11 seed. They beat No. 25 Depaul on their home court and also beat LSU, San Fransisco and BYU in the non-conference. They entered the NCAA tournament on a 13-game winning streak that included a 91-69 beat down of Idaho in the Big Sky Tournament title game.

They lost 75-61 to Michigan.

Outside of the top 6? In the women's side I've always felt like it was pretty much chalk com tournament time. Not really much in the way of 1st and 2nd round upsets.

I'd say outside of the Top 4 there are still quite a few first round upsets in the women's tournament. The 2024 tournament was definitely "chalky" with only one first round upset (#11 Middle Tennessee over #6 Louisville), but in the 2023 tournament there was one 11 over 6 upset and two 12 over 5 upsets. In 2022 there were two 11 over 6 upsets and two 12 over 5 upsets. Not having to play a road game in the first round gives the lower seeded teams a far better chance to win a game.
