This is one of those games I'm glad I was there....similar to the 2018 Cat/Griz football (Bobcats Hold!!).....from total despair to total elation...incredible finish and now Marah has etched her name in the Bobcat history books....

And hats off to Nate and the Grizzlies...I kept expecting them to run out of gas...but they kept coming....Nate deserves the HC job....

I guess you could put both the ‘16 and ‘17 football games on there because the Cats weren’t favored in either one. Definitely exciting games though. “Batted down and incomplete. Tyrel Thomas, wins the game for the Bobcats!” I still have that call as the ring tone on my phone. Heck, even in ‘19, the gris were going for a share of the Big Sky title and the Cats kept them from winning that one, but it was a blow out.

In track, you could definitely put that 1600 meter relay from last year to beat the gris and take the title from NAU.

I'd add the 1993 WBB regular season finale. MSU beat UM to tie for the championship and then there was a coin toss back in the locker room to decide who would host the tournament. MSU won the toss, beat the Griz again to win the tournament and made their first NCAA tournament appearance.

One of the first MSU WBB games that I ever attended. I was hooked.

It was a put back on her own miss, that is one of the simplest shots to make.

It’s one of the easier shots to prevent too….its taught early on when teaching defensive fundamentals….its called block out or get a body on someone…..especially if you outnumber other team 3 to 1 under the basket…..and can’t stop it.

BTW didn’t gris have a “bunny” under the basket play to win the game in Missoula this year. Cats lead by one…..gris play to get the ball underneath to same side of rim as Marah had and didn’t get er done.

Yes. Waddington missed a bunny although Elle Johnson was defending. It was a sideline-out-of-bounds play that nearly worked to perfection.

Waddington made the mistake of coming down and not just tipping the ball in. I think she had it if she tips it in. But she stepped back because Ella was defending and shot flat footed with no jump.

I’ve watched ever replay I can find. That upper deck replay is cool because you can see the reaction from the crowd, the band (look at the tuba players), the bench, and I even think that’s Waded running around the end of the court.



The Etta James song video is one of my favorites too because I love that song and it really shows all the emotion of the play, especially from the bench.

I’ve watched the Etta James video about 50 times and I just noticed that Leon pops up out of the basket after the ball goes through the hoop.
