This is one of the worst broadcasts I've ever seen on TV. No replays. Terrible sound. Bad camera work. Horrible job for Altitude!

This result is as surprising as something that is completely unsurprising.

Ballgame. 70 - 66 griz. Griz hot shooting in first half, plus better than expected rebounding was the difference, and the griz hit their free throws down the stretch.

With each terrible loss, which each February swoon we have to believe that we are that much closer to the necessary changes to the program being made...but there's going to have to be many, many more losses to see it through. I don't know how he does it, but Huse sucks every bit of creativity and inspiration from his players as the season drags on. He does it year after year after year after year. I think the time has come that if Fields won't make the change then Fields needs to go with Huse.

Women lose in overtme....started OT with a 5 point lead, but bad shots and weak post defense allowed Griz to come back and win.

I don't care anymore. Give Huse a lifetime contract for all I care at this point.

I'm at the same point. Just give the guy a lifetime contract, I will watch men's bball pre-February, and if they make the tourney I'll watch that too. Rinse and repeat until Huse retires.

I was in attendance. I let him know my feelings for him a few times. ;)

Also the fire alarm that went off was not an electrical issue. The vents had blown some dust that the detector picked up as smoke.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Fields and Cruzado obviously feel the same way.

I guess the good news is I'm saving a fortune in basketball tickets and concession $. DID YOU HEAR THAT FIELDS? I'm not spending any money in Worthington Arena anymore. As a bean counter-I would think that would matter. I'm quite sure tonight was the smallest Cat-griz crowd in the history of the Fieldhouse. Oh well, time for another contract extension.

I believe they said the attendance was just barely over 4,000? It seems like it was only a few years ago, when Cat-Griz was still an automatic sellout. I know it's a Monday night, and the weather is crappy, but still. In years past this game was sometimes played while the students were still on Christmas break, and they still drew well over 4,000. I tried to get excited when MSU drew within a point in the 2nd half, but I just knew they'd lose. This was a Griz team that was only 4-5 in conference going into this game. So what's your prediction for our record in the 2nd round of conference play? I'm guessing 2-8 or 3-7, which would almost certainly mean missing the tourney. At this point, I almost hope we don't make it, because I'm afraid the only way Fields will make a change is if we miss the tourney 2 or 3 years in a row. It really is starting to feel similar to the Solomonson era in football. Those few of us who still have any interest, expect to lose every game. It would be somewhat humorous, albeit in a painful way, to go back and read some of the posts through the first 5 conference games, especially the ones scolding us realists for being so negative during our brief, hot start.

Definitely was the smallest crowd I could find in old box scores. 3,424 according to ESPN. Last year's was 4,571. All the others before that which still show up on ESPN's site show 6000+.

Having this game on a Monday night was a dumb decision by the conference. The game in Missoula is also on a Monday night, so I'm sure attendance will suffer from that too.

Nice spin on the alarm. Just admit the Griz were on fire early and someone pulled the alarm in a desperate move to help the fading bobcats. 8) :D

Cat-Griz attendance in Bozeman over the last six years:

2009 - 6,167
2010 - 6,427
2011 - 6,956
2012 - 6,018
2013 - 4,521
2014 - 3,424

That's Montana's seventh straight win over Montana State and the 12th time in 16 outings Montana has bested MSU in Brad Huse's tenure.

I wrote for the Great Falls Tribune tonight. Once the story is up on their website, I'll post it here.

I'd say it the other way. We should pull the fire alarm when we're up, not down. The funny thing is that the Griz went on a run after that.

I was talking to some buddies today and most the students I talked to didn't even realize that it was Cat-griz tonight. That is a HUGE red flag when it comes to the current status of our basketball program ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
