Re: Long Beach St
I just don't understand staying small for so long when you aren't breaking the press AND you are giving up bunnies at will. Get some size on the damn court when the lead shrinks to 3. Why is Olmsted getting a scholarship if he is incapable of playing. I'm just getting flashbacks of other coaches not playing our kids with size because they don't fit the scheme or whatever and I'm over it. Every other team in the conference seems to have multiple 6'10" guys that can at least contribute on defense and we are lucky if we can trot out one 6'9"( or 6'7") guy to bang with them. Seriously why are we always so small...

Not sure why this is funny.
Too many on here expected the seasons we have had last few years. It didn't happen Sprinkle's first and he returned way more than Logie. I am saying we need to look for progress and improve enough to wins some games in tourney. I guess you think that's not possible

… and he’s the only serviceable true guard that we have. In watching today, I truly believe that’s the weakest spot. No depth. One guy. We have enough wings to open an airplane factory, but point-type guards? Will ET-III be able to help RF-III when he gets the rust off?
I think the TV guy used the announcer’s curse, only sort of in reverse. Somewhere around the 4 minute mark the ‘Cats got a stop and were running down the court. Miller had the ball on the right side and the announcer said “‘Cats have numbers!” Miller peeled back (presumably on orders although he wasn’t in a great place) and the announcer said “Need to continue being aggressive. Don’t want to take the foot off the gas.” They never scored again.

We have now lost to 2 teams I do not think we should have lost to. This one and Green Bay.
I am not feeling good about conference play and where we will be. I am hoping for at least .500.
and the win over Cal was a fluke. I heard Cal had several starters out for that game.

News flash, the Bobcats will lose more games this season against teams you think they should beat and they'll also win some against teams they probably shouldn't beat. I'd be thrilled by a .500 record in Conference Play, that's what Danny Sprinkle did his first year at MSU and the cupboard was a hell of a lot more full when he showed up on campus than it was for Coach Logie.wapiti wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 10:54 amWe have now lost to 2 teams I do not think we should have lost to. Exactly. We are in a rebuilding time for sure, it's exciting for me to watch players and the team grow and improve. Coach Logie obviously knows what he is doing, we've been in every game we played thus far, so I'm content to sit back and enjoy the ride. To do otherwise would make me a bandwagon type fan, which I've been guilty of before.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 10:59 am

Welcome to the new age of college basketball.. if it’s not an easy layup they’re going to swing it around to find an open 3 ball. Analytically a quality uncontested 3 is a better shot than any 2 point shot other than a wide open layup.
