Hey Portland area Bobcats....hope you'll consider coming to the game today. PSU Viking Pavilion is a great venue to watch the game and the tickets are cheap! I'll be there with a contingent of fans to cheer on the Cats to their 20th victory! Go Cats!!
We’ve got three Washington girls on the team in Morales, Philip, and Harris so hopefully they have family coming. If you listened to Cat Chat on Tuesday this week Addison Harris is from Camas Washington right across the River from Portland so she has a crew coming and she said her high school team may come and watch, which would be neat. And if you see a lady with red hair that looks like a “spitting image” of Addy sitting in the stands…well that would be Addison’s mom! Tell her hi from all of Bobcat Nation.
Does Harris have a brother? I saw a redheaded kid cheering for the Cats several times.

Yes, she mentioned him on Cat Chat this past week. Apparently Logie is recruiting him for the MSU men's team.

With Idaho losing at home to Idaho State, it's a two horse race with MSU and NAU. An absolutely massive game in the Brick on Thursday. If you can, you need to be there.

Eastern Wash loses to Weber and Idaho State downs Idaho giving Idaho a third loss likely taking them out of the conference title chance.

Thursday game between NAU and the Bobcats looms huge.

Yes she does. He has had some discussion with the Bobcats but he is looking around. Edit: now I’m not there so don’t know if this particular redhead is her brother. Her mom is a redhead and looks just like Addy.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

The Bobcats outscored PSU 62-21 after Binford called time out early in the second quarter when PSU cut the lead to 5. 20 wins...on February 1. Is that good? Asking for a friend.

A dominant win, especially by the Bobcat bench points: 40-5 comparison with PSU. Chirrick had more steals (7) than the whole PSU team (5).

58-57!! You're final score!! Daniel Salle

Bobcats currently sit at 307 steals or 14 per game. Taylee sits at 71 steals or 3.2 steals per game.

I don’t know Big Sky record but back in the Liz Holz era you had a stealing machine.

Bobcat records for steals:

Team steals: 345 1986-87 team…..I think current team can exceed this and pass the 400 steal mark at the current pace.

Individual single season: Liz Holz 124 1988-89….will be really tough for Taylee to pass this mark this year.

Career: Liz Holz 340 1986-89….no doubt in my mind that if Taylee stays healthy she can eclipse this mark.

Edit add: Liz Holz had 3 consecutive seasons over 100 steals…..103-113-124. She played in 82 games so she averaged 4.1 steals per game over her career. It is possible Taylee can sneak into third best all time if she gets over the 103 mark of Liz….it’s in reach this year anyway.

Is it correct that PSU didn’t score in the final 6 minutes. Ouch!

She's very impressive. She's a major pest on defense and is starting to look for her shot more.

I was really glad to see over 3800 fans turn out for the men tonight at the Brick. I'm convinced the crowd got us over the hump 74-73. The Cats are now 9-13 and are .500 in the Big Sky. Okay, improving. HOWEVER, we have a women's team now 20-2 and UNDEFEATED in Big Sky play. NAU has not lost a game since our Cats beat them in Flagstaff. Thursday night is as big as it gets for Montana State women's basketball at the Brick.

If we had 3800 fans out for the 9-13 men tonight, we need to add at least another 1000 onto that for Thursday's epic matchup. Put on your stocking cap and you get in for $5 bucks. Be there Cat fans. We owe it to this special group of young ladies and their coaches.

The Bobcats also finished the second quarter on a 13-0 run and held PSU scoreless for the final 7:37 of the half.

This team has a pretty big step yet to make in becoming a cohesive offensive team, including the old Bobcat bugaboo, layups. They are a young team to deal with plugging in new point guard Esmeralda, and melding two super-veterans, Lexi and Taylor, in at mid -season. That’s not easy and there is no surprise that it’s taking awhile to gain peak efficiency. Meanwhile a terrifying defense just keeps them rolling.

The only full-season bridge between the old and the new is KJ (now Martin) and I believe that she is due a lot of the credit for this team, at least in my mind, being somewhat ahead of schedule. Really, 20-2 and just one rimmed-out shot from 21-1? Just the long road trips alone could have caused an upset or two, but they’ve handled it like veterans. KJ’s job as default mother hen has been performed very admirably.

I often see KJ and Esme having a side discussion at timeouts and then gathering the other players. I want to thank Esme for seemingly, from my point of view, coming in and being a positive force without ripping apart the existing player leadership. Now that could never happen, could it?

When this team reaches a greater level of offensive production, and I believe it’s coming a little more every week, they are going to be a tough out around the west. Congratulations to Coach Tricia Binford, her staff, and the fine players of the MSU Bobcats women’s basketball team on recording their 20th win!
