Ohio State, on their floor. We will be totally outmatched, realistically. Our only hope is if they are very overconfident and shoot the ball very poorly. And if you think I am just being pessimistic, don't forget the last time we made the tourney, we did not score in the 1st quarter against Stanford. Major college women's basketball just have a totally different degree of athlete than we are accustomed to. Nevertheless, I will be watching and rooting for our girls. Go 'Cats.

I’m pretty certain no Cat fans had any delusions about going far in the tournament. This is just fun to watch the Cats compete on a national level and you never know what’s going to happen.

I think alot of us hoped for a 12 so we would be neutral and have a better chance at an upset. But realistically we all realized that if that happened the next game would most likely not go our way.

It's NCAA women's basketball there are rarely "upsets " NIT would have been better for us with some time games but the big dance is what we get and we will lay our game and hope for some March magic.

It do matter 12, 13 or 14 women's basketball is different

SDSU is ranked 24 in the AP poll and got a 10 seed. So at least they consistently poorly seeded mid major teams.

Florida Gulf Coast got a 14 seed BTW. Wonder if the Sac State loss hurt us or would we have been a 13 no matter what? GCU only had 2 losses and they're a 13 too. I hope the girls have fun and take back a lifetime of great memories.

Hard to say, MSU is the highest ranked team in the Net to be seeded 13 or lower. So I think it was definitely close. The one #12 seed I'd have a gripe about is Green Bay, who is #72 in the Net compared to MSU's #54 and comes from the #26 rated conference compared to MSU coming from the #15 rated conference. That one doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It's going to be really hard to win a road game against a Big Ten team but Ohio State isn't the worst matchup. They're 5-5 in their last ten games and got destroyed by UCLA in their tournament while losing their star player to an injury. I'm guessing she'll be back for the NCAA Tournament though.

No kidding. They were lucky to get that after losing to UConn last week, who got a #2. The more Staley has won, the more insufferable she has become.

I am trying to be optimistic. For example, Washiington made the NCAAs and Montana beat them earier in the season by 14 points.

Basketball is such a weird game. If our ladies get hot and make shots from the perimeter, I think we can make it interesting. MSU can make a team pretty miserable with our defense, full court pressure, steals, etc.

There's certainly no pressure on our team. Just go out, play loose, take good shots, and see what happens.
