Examples: Olivia Miles, projected #2 in the draft out of Notre Dame, chose the transfer portal instead. Azzi Fudd returning to U Conn instead of WNBA.

This year might be a bit of an anomaly in women's basketball because the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement ends after the upcoming season and it is expected that player salaries will increase significantly in the new one due to the increased interest in the league in recent years. I think there definitely is an incentive for the few players good enough to get big NIL deals to stay in college for another year if they can.

The nba throws money into the pot for the wnba, correct? If so, how much and will that increase?MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:00 pmThis year might be a bit of an anomaly in women's basketball because the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement ends after the upcoming season and it is expected that player salaries will increase significantly in the new one due to the increased interest in the league in recent years. Yes, the NBA is a part owner of the WNBA and helps fund the league. I'm not sure how much that will increase with the new CBA, but it's widely expected that player salaries will see a very significant increase across the board thanks to the increased revenue that Caitlin Clark and others have brought to the league since the last CBA was negotiated in 2020.RickRund wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:18 pmThe nba throws money into the pot for the wnba, correct?
