From listening to Coach Bin's post game interview it sounds like Coach thought that Taylee had the new Big Sky steal record of 12 when she was taken out, only to find out she had 11 which TIED her for the most all time steals. Sounded like Coach was very disappointed that she got the wrong information. Hopefully, Taylee will eventually break it. I agree that Taylee is going to be the Taco Dowler of women's basketball and remain at Montana State. Just a gut feeling. She's a Montana girl and she certainly appears to be happy playing for the Bobcats.

Post-college, Coach Binford has excellent international contacts. I mean, who wants to grow up and play in the WNBA any more?

Next year Baker senior Madison O'Connor will be a frosh with the 'Cats. She is a very polished hoops player with great athleticism at 5'11". She has a chance to be as good as Chirrick and I don't say that lightly.

Is Montana as a state producing better women’s players, or has Coach Bin’s program become a true destination? The four Montana kids she has now can all play lights out.

My guess is she stays next year and transfers for her senior year. Pretty much every elite team would make an offer if she continues to improve through next year. Binford will be a perfect coach to get the rest of her game rounded out by the end of next year. Yes, of course she'll get a big NIL payday, but also her chances of getting drafted go from (practically) zero to a real possibility. The WNBA draft pretty much takes the best players from the same handful of schools every year, and with a few exceptions, it very difficult to break through from a small school. I would absolutely support her if this is the way it plays out. She will have earned her shot at the biggest stage and I suspect she'll keep kicking ass even against top level competition.

It was a long sleeved of like a sunshirt type material that had her picture and defensive player of the year on it.

The good news for Taylee and her chances to play in the WNBA are that by the time she'll be eligible for the draft in 2028 the league will be up to 16 teams compared to the 12 it had for so many years until the Caitlin Clark women's basketball boom allowed them to expand. I hope she stays at MSU but would totally understand if she decided to test herself against better competition. Watching the absolute mismatch of her playing against the poor Portland State ladies on Saturday reminded me of the dodgeball scene in Billy Madison.ClowderUp wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 11:22 amMy guess is she stays next year and transfers for her senior year. She's the first Bobcat WBB to earn National POW.
MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

It sure feels like the state is producing better players. Billings West alum Courtney Grossman is at Eastern Wash and is leading the nation in rebounding. Huntley Project's Paige Lofing is coming off the bench as a frosh at Gonzaga and her playing time has increased markedly from the beginning of the season. Skyview's Brianna Williams is playing 11 minutes/game at Maryland as a frosh. Laurel's Alyse Aaby starts for Idaho State. MSUB and the Frontier Conference are littered with Montana girls.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 10:19 amIs Montana as a state producing better women’s players, or has Coach Bin’s program become a true destination? Why are we seeing these type players in Women's but Men's side there are no D1, Cats and Griz don't even look at them. Lots in frontier and a few D2. But still probably not as many as Women's side.84CatGrad wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 9:56 amIt sure feels like the state is producing better players. Football. A ton of fantastic athletes in the state, and Montana is a football-heavy state. The best men’s athletes go that direction. The women don’t have an equivalent, so basketball gets the top athletes.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 10:22 amWhy are we seeing these type players in Women's but Men's side there are no D1, Cats and Griz don't even look at them.
