Trent Tucker Rule - Disallows any "regular shot" taken with .3 seconds or less left. Basically protects the clock operator and their accuracy of flipping an on/off switch

What about the last shot in OT to tie the game that should have counted
Apparently there's a rule that with .3 seconds left (or less), the player cannot catch the ball, then shoot. Has to be a tip-in. You watch the replay and the ball was out of Adamu's hand before the clock expired....bummer of a way to lose.
Yeah there has to be .4 or more for a catch and shoot. I thought the play calling was odd for that reason. Sprinkle 100% knows that rule.

This is correct and has been a rule for a quite a while. Basically takes the human error of a slow handed clock operator out of the equation.

That was the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. I was at the game. Refs missed call after call. I have friends on the eastern side and they came up to me laughing about how bad it was. Big sky needs to rewatch that game and make sure they don’t get another call for a game this season.
Can you explain what happened on the Technical foul for “delay of game”? Was that legit? I really couldn’t tell on TV. I’ve seen teams way late coming out of timeouts or coaches calling players together on the floor with no timeout and not receive a foul….so what was up with that?

Yes, the game announcer told us several times about the .3 rule. So I kept asking myself, why all the drama? it's over. But Sprinkle was drawing something up so I said to myself, "this is going to be worth watching!" He was looking very hard at Battle so I thought to myself, "he's the guy".
But it was, in fact, over
Might have been Eastern's best outing of the season. They played hard and in some cases "over their head" at home. Acliese is averaging 16.2 points per game. He got 22 in the first game vs. the Cats, 38 last night. Cats need to rethink this guy. Keep Acliese to his season average last night and win by 14.
The Cats were not at their best on many levels, but kept fighting back, which I admired.

But with today's ability to review every damn thing in the game, I think this rule should be revisited. What even defines a "catch"?

If you review it, the clock started on time and the player got the ball out does it matter if he sort of caught it or not?

We were up 74-67 with 2:48 in regulation and didn't scored another point, that is awful. Every point EWU scored to tie the game was a free throw.

In person did you think Adamu was could at end of regulation. Also thought Battle was trippedat end of OT by guy setting screen which left side open shooter

Absolutely he was. He was raked across the head and seemed dazed for a second. They were horrible. They spent all of a 1/2 second looking at the last play and deemed it no good. It was the ref in the opposite side of half court that made the call too. It was embarrassing. They need to look at that game again and make sure those guys don't do another game in Cheney.

What was the delay technical. Not coming out of the timeout quick enough

Yes and it was MSU's second warning which resulted in the technical.

Yeah Sprinkle got warned for being out on the court on a dead ball, then they didn’t come out of the huddle fast enough. The short oldest ref was a cranky dude with a quick trigger, I was shocked there wasn’t any other techs

How did you even know what that post was saying? I've read it three times and I still don't know, lol.

Assumed he meant fouled lol That's the only part I could figure out. As far as Battle getting tripled the lob was supposed to come for him on the out of bounds play but they sniffed it out. Eastern is tough. But if we don't let Aclisse go for 38 we win that game by double digits.

I felt Battle got tripped. On last defensive possession. Eastern guy setting screen kind of stuck foot out. He moved so got away with it. Battle fell. Left shooter wide open

We need to shore up something on the back door cuts and step-ins. Acliese III was making a ton of basically uncontested shots. Did it so often my head started humming what should be Acliese’s warmup song, Back Door Man by Jim Morrison and the Doors.

Wha, yeah
C'mon, yeah, yeah, c'mon, yeah
I am a, yeah, I'm a back door man
I'm a back door man…
