Really appreciate this post! Honest, but still a fan! Expectations were high for this team, but we played “down” to second place in the conference. Going to be interesting to see what happens in Boise, but we don’t have a lot of momentum. I think Binford is going to have to find/develop/recruit/ transfer in a leader. Accountability seems to be missing. It’s amazing with the Championship on the line, only Darian showed up. This team desperately needs to develop an identity because they’ve not lived up to their potential. I just don’t see the fight of prior years.

I am quietly optimistic Grace Beasley, the UW transfer, will bring some added leadership. Her film sure looked good. And there is still hope leaders will arise from this sophomore group with another year of maturation….in the face of adversity leaders come to the top.

I am seeing some fire in Leia Beattie that could develop into a great leader. Lexi Will hopefully step into that role as well.

Yep…Beattie is a bit of a warrior and could emerge. Agree with you on that! And although we said no one else contributed against UNC, Beattie did add 13 points which was 4 above her season average.

Kola is a leader, so when she is in foul trouble I think we struggle. Compare to men. 3 covid seniors and they win a lot of close games. Women don't really have that experienced leadership and it shows sometimes in inconsistent play. Other than Darian we don't have anyone that can consistently attack the basket which hurts if big get in foul trouble. Much fewer open looks
