Both of these teams from the glance (watched a lot of msu, not a ton of ttu) are great defensively, yet can get into some serious offensive ruts. TTUs length and size will definitely hurt MSU but MSU has two big men down low who can score and body up with anyone in the country (assuming Belo is healthy, he wasn’t in the conference tournament) I would not be shocked to see the line be in favor of TTU by over 15, but I think this could be an ugly game (in a good team defense kind of way).

MSU shot lights out in the conference championship. It’ll take all of Tyler Patterson, Nick Gazaleas, and X to shoot well to have a chance. My biggest worry is guarding scoring guards. X does a great job for what he is on the defensive end but at the end of the day if you’re 5’8 guarding a 6’5 guard there’s just always going to be a mismatch.

As Danny Sprinkle said before, why not us to be the upset? If MSU can’t battle it out or come out on top, I think TTU has serious potential to make a deep run. Great team defense never goes out of style and I really like the team build of being long and athletic 1-5 that’s starting to take over basketball (see Toronto Raptors and a more familiar foe, EWU). Passing lanes get clogged up when everyone on the floor has long arms and can switch screens forever.

I wish I could make the trip, but similar to the national championship game, it would have taken more planning on my part before we got to this point, so here’s to waiting for another chance in my lifetime

That is a huge spread for basketball. There's no doubt TTU is the favorite, but I think MSU can cover. The historical average for a 3/14 seed matchup favors the #3 seed about 85% of the time. So, we have about a 1 in 6 chance of pulling off the upset.

I watched a lot of yesterday's games. Thought officials really let them play. Most games barely in bonus at end of halves. This one not so much. Not a difference in game, but the way they are shooting g we had to try to be more physical and as soon As we did the fouls were flowing. Texas Tech is showing why they are #2 in nation in defensive efficiency and couple that with how they shot we had no chance.

Yeah, the Achilles heel of this TTU team was they can go into serious offensive droughts. How do they respond? Shooting 75% from the field and 70% from 3. I totally understood they game plan of make them prove it but man they've proved it and then some. To the point where you laugh at it. That's the reality though, I would rather play some of the 1 and 2 seeds than TTU.

Yes I am salty, I really thought we came in hot and could at least make it a dog fight. TTU proved me wrong. This is the last game for a couple guys they aren't gonna quit!

Nice job Tech. You guys shot the lights out and played great defense. The refs weren't going to change the final score, but they like you too! You guys are probably going to at least elite 8 probably a final 4 team.
