I am surprised Andy Hill’s name is not on this list.
I think this is an early prelimary list. I'm sure there are quite a few other names that will surface throughout the process. I remember when Vigen was hired, there were all sorts of names and rumors swirling around.
Yeah, I'd be surprised if both Andy Hill and Haslam don't at least get an interview if they're interested. It's possible one of them has decided to join Sprinkle on his USU staff especially with the much larger assistant salary pool he has to work with there.

Coach Sprinkle has his press conference at USU at noon today, so perhaps there will be some staff announcements made at that time.

A little interesting that two candidates for the last 2 jobs ended up at Idaho State (Charlie Ragle, football, Ryan Looney, basketball) and neither of them found success.

Yeah....I wouldn't touch any job at ISU with a ten foot pole right now.

Seeing what goes on at Idaho State in most sports makes me think that Seton Sobelewski might be the most underrated women's basketball coach in the country with what he's been able to do there.

Idaho State is a tough place to win for some reason.

I'd be happy with Chris Haslem, if he doesn't end up following Sprinkle.

If we decide not to hire from the existing staff then Dan Russell would be a good alternative.

Also, Tunka Tollison would be an interesting hire. It seems like he garnered a lot of respect from the USU folks. Since he got passed over in their coaching search, think he would consider MSU?

Maybe Sprinkle waits to see who gets head and brings at least one of others with him. If no current assistant gets job I would be surprised if more than1remains on staff next year.

Well, we're now a week into the search with no news of coaching candidates other than a tweet that may have been speculation of likely candidates rather than any actual information. No transfer portal entries yet either other than the two who entered prior to Sprinkle leaving. The secrecy suggests to me that this is potentially moving more quickly than previous searches have.

Thanks for the update. Pretty impressive that Leon has been able to keep the entire roster out of the portal so far during the search process, unlike what happened at Utah State.

Hopefully someone in the media can get an inside scoop on who the candidates might be!

I like to hear all the scoop but I think keeping the names quiet is a good thing. Some additional candidates may explore the opportunity if they can remain anonymous. It may widen the pool.

I agree in general, but if the players are meeting on campus this weekend with the finalists then it would appear that the pool has already been narrowed and a hire will happen soon.

The process makes me think an internal hire.

Seems like there's at least an internal candidate still in the running since Danny made it pretty clear in an interview this week that he wants to bring at least Haslam and A. Hill with him, but hasn't been able to announce anything yet.

If the hire was going to come from within the program it would/should have been announced earlier in the week.

Not necessarily, they still have to conduct a national search and it would behoove them to seriously look at all applicants.

How many players are going to interview the candidates? How many are left? It seems the ones that will enter the portal shouldn't have to do the interview.
