Looked her up and reading this, she's not the one I was thinking of. It was Sheehan that I was thinking of where I heard her players all hated her.

I looked Fields up. How things have changed for us. Fields was a 5'11 forward. Today we have guards that are 6 even. I want to say outside of Dylan, Esme and Natalie everyone is 6 even or taller. Looked ot up. Taylee is 5'11. Everyone else is 6 or taller.

Yep. From what I remember she was a decent player but definitely not one of the best on the team. I think she was also on the Missouri team and transferred to MSU when Peter got the job here. I can see how it could cause tension to have your boss's kid on a team you are coaching. Glad I could derail this thread by indirectly bringing up Coach Potera through the WV head coach. It's a long few days until Sunday evening!lutecat wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 8:51 pmOh I didn't realize Peter had a daughter that played.MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:37 pmI don't recall the reasons given for her firing, but she sued MSU for gender discrimination after being let go and the case dragged on for years. Games to watch today that could affect MSU's seeding:
MAC Final - Ball State vs Toledo - we want a Toledo win
MAAC Final - Fairfield vs Quinnipiac - we want a Quinnipiac win
ASUN Final - FGCU vs Central Arkansas - we want a UCA win
WAC Final - Grand Canyon vs UT Arlington - we want a UTA win
C-USA Final - Liberty vs Middle Tennessee - we want a Liberty win
All the higher ranked teams in these games are very close to MSU in the Net rankings and right around the same seeding lines in the projected brackets.

Re: WBB National Ranking
Belmont is actually higher in the Net rankings than Missouri State even though they were the lower seeded team. That one's likely a wash.rivercat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 7:06 pmAnd Belmont beat Missouri State.SACCAT wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:32 pmOnly help we got in those games was Liberty beating Middle Tennessee.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 8:45 amGames to watch today that could affect MSU's seeding:

And both Belmont and Missouri State have lower NET rankings the MSU. I'm thinking the Cats get a 12 seed.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 7:14 pmBelmont is actually higher in the Net rankings than Missouri State even though they were the lower seeded team. Re: WBB National Ranking
To me MSU is a clear 12 and you could make an argument that they're closer to an 11 than a 13. The team that's bugging me the most in the projected brackets where MSU is a 13 seed is that FGCU is always a 12, even though they (1) have a lower Net ranking than MSU, (2) play in a lower rated conference than MSU, and (3) lost to MSU head-to-head...at home. Of course, the bracket projection people are likely paying way more attention to how they're seeding the top teams and picking the bubble teams than they are to seeding the bottom of the bracket as accurately as possible. I think it's also time for the women's tournament to follow the men's model and move to all neutral sites so that there isn't such a huge disadvantage if you're seeded 13 instead of 12.
