Nate Harris has turned the Lady Griz into a completely new team. I don't think anyone thought we would actually have a shot to win it. He and Woolley very well could turn this group into a serious threat come March. Avery Waddington showed why she is far and away the most talented freshman in the Big Sky. Lets hope the portal doesn't ruin that for the LG. The title will be the Cats' to lose.
I told my wife at the beginning of the game that the gris would be dangerous now, going from apparently unhappy, to a really smart coach, and a personable players coach, too. I was a real fan of Nate while he was here. You did well. We’ll see how he does the next 29 years or so.

You must have missed Taylee Chirrick’s 9-0 burst in 1:43 and her 14-straight (including back-to-back-to-back-to-back unanswered three pointers) burst in previous games. Waddington was good today, but I wouldn’t hand her the trophy, yet. Chirrick had some absolutely crucial steals in helping her team win today. Waddington is more polished, but Chirrick is off the charts for speed, quickness, motor, and yes — shooting. The gris defended her well today.

I went to the game. First basketball game in the Adam's center for me. I got seats behind the basket 2 rows up right next to the press. So amazing seats. I could see really well.

Some of our shots. Alot of our shots around the rim were off alot. Griz played tough physical D down there. I noticed we don't often try to out up a contested shot. I'd like to maybe see those shots taken alot.

The griz are going to be tough from here out. 3 point shooting was obviously a strength. And they pass well and quickly.

I'd say both teams ended up playing kind of sloppy at times. Either could've taken the game at points. In the end we had it. Weird ending. Honestly geiz should've fouled right away after the miss. All the girls were standing around like "is it over"? And no celebrating in the court. But after....

I was just behind the Bobcat bench right at rim level, Coach B is such a good coach, so lucky to have her still, 20 years is amazing in this era.
Lady Cats really need to work on rebounding, especially on the offensive side, that seemed to be a glaring discrepancy today.
Take the W and keep it rolling, Go Cats!
I thought Offensive rebounds were an issue while watching, but we actually ended up winning the Offensve Rebounding 9-8...

I don’t think Redpath yelled “Avery Waddington!” enough.
Listen to the end of the first quarter. PxP was so lost he thought it was a "24 second violation" and a timeout for a good 10 seconds before he realized the quarter was over. Embarrassing.
Yeah he was pretty bad. Krista Redpath knows ball and does a good job adding color to the broadcast but still can't hide her gris homerism very well. "Talking about this Bobcat record, we HAVE to talk about the Lady Griz win against Washington!" Um, do we?

And she conveniently forgot to mention that MSU also has a win over a power conference opponent this year.

Those of you that are critical of the announcers especially Redpath are not wrong but compared to how bad she used to be her current faults are barely worth mentioning.
One of my favorite comments by her tonight came with 20 seconds left in the game # 10 Waddington took a 3pt shot and airballed it badly, missing the rim by at least 2'. Redpath said the shot was "just a little short". She said it so seriously when she should've channeled the tone and style of Bob Uecker. RIP
It's all good and just another example that all things (including play be play announcers) are better at MSU.

When the Bobcat women rebounded the ball with 19 seconds to go in the game and called timeout why did they then
have to take the ball out from the baseline rather than get the ball advanced passed half court for the inbound?
Later with just under 5 seconds left the Gris called timeout and did get to advance the ball for their inbound.
I would've thought homer refs would be a little less obvious than that and was surprised that Binford didn't go ballistic.

The refs called that correctly. To advance the ball the time out needs to be called from a dead ball situation or before a pass or dribble has been made by the team calling the time out. On that play Martin grabbed the rebound and passed to Dykstra who called the time out, which negated the chance to advance the ball. If Martin had called it immediately they could have.

I have found that if I listen to the game on my iphone (either the Bobcat broadcast or listen to the online radio stream, the video is actually AHEAD of the audio. So you can pause the video and sync it up. I NEVER listen to the TV announcers.

Thanks for straightening me out. I read the rule but evidently was not looking at the official rules because what I read didn't say anything about the time out needing to be called before any pass...

I've tried that and it works for awhile but eventually it gets out of sync for me.

No problem! I was confused at the time as well so looked up the official rulebook after the game. I'm sure Coach Binford will remind the team of the rule so hopefully that doesn't happen again next time they're in the same situation.

I feel like this team's best basketball is still ahead of them. They have another gear left. Lexi Deden and Taylor Janssen are still working back to full fitness. I think Taylor made a step forward today. Hopefully we can get that high low post action with Lexi and Marah working in February and March. This team still needs to figure out how to shorten those bad offensive stretches that seem to happen in every game.

Ok watching that press conferences:

Dylan Phillips face lights up when she smiles and its really hard not to smile when you see it.

Mute the audio and watch the expressions and body language of everyone and I bet you can't tell who won the game. The griz seemed just as up as the Cats. The griz girls are obviously having way more fun than before Holsinger gets "fired". I think they look like they're obviously responding to Nate.

Super interesting to talk about the x's and o's like about the difference between Esme playing at PSU and here.

Listening to Nate talk and especially how he chokes up a little talking about Coach Bin and the respect and the fun going up against her. I hope he gets the job permanently. The griz have too much talent on their team for the game to be anything other than what was played. He's the anti-bh and the rivalry would be so much cooler to have coaches like thay.

I'm just going to point out that Mack Konig called it Cat/Griz! Not gris/cat. Lol

So the question is asked you the other day. Who decided when to have post game interviews like this where everyone sits down and brings players and everyone asks questions? Is this only Cat/griz?

Yeah Dylan Phillips can be seen smiling lots of times during games and during breaks in the action. She looks like she's just living her best life out there. She's not the only one on the team looking like that either. They're a fun team to watch.

I was talking about in the press conference but yes all of them look like they have fun out there.
