Keep in mind that Trujeque, is a 2010 commit. He will not be officially signing until this November and will suit up for the 2010-11 team.

Here is some more info on Mr. Trujeque

Wow, and the kid was also being recruited by Columbia and Harvard, so he's no slouch in the classroom!

He looks like a good get both on the court and in the classroom. He'll only continue to get better before he arrives at MSU. =D^ =D^

LOS ANGELES — It was close, for about eight minutes.

The Oaks Christian School boys’ basketball team had a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter of Thursday’s Southern California Regional playoff game against Price High. Then, suddenly, everything fell apart.

The top-seeded Knights played inspired the rest of the way, and unfortunately, the Lions could never figure out an answer in a 68-42 loss in a Division IV quarterfinal.

“We were in the fight for a while,’’ Oaks Christian coach Tom Roanhaus said. “We knew they were going to up the ante at some point. When they did, it was tough to come back.’’

Dan Ross made three 3-pointers early on for the Lions (20-9). And things looked even better when Price’s top player, Allen Crabbe, was forced to the bench after picking up his second foul with 40 seconds left in the first quarter.

Askia Booker picked up the slack for the Knights (31-0) in the second quarter. He scored eight points over the course of a six-minute stretch to give Price a 21-15 lead at the break.

“We didn’t come out aggressive, it’s not a good trait of ours, and definitely something we need to fix, ’’ Price coach Mike Lynch said. “Give Oaks Christian credit, they came out pumped up.’’

The Lions were anything but pumped up in the second quarter.

Price held Oaks Christian to a single point for the first seven minutes of the second quarter. The Lions only field goal of the period was a 3-pointer by Taylor Hange with 18 seconds left.

The Knights picked up the intensity in the third quarter. Casey Trujeque scored 12 consecutive points and Price never looked back, taking a 47-32 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Lions should consider themselves lucky that Crabbe had an off night. Price’s leading scored five points in the first quarter. He missed his next six shots from the field though and picked up his second foul early in the second quarter before heading to the bench.

“I couldn’t get things going,’’ Crabbe said. “Luckily we had Casey. He was our spark.’’

It was more of the same in the fourth quarter. More Trujeque. He scored a basket in the opening minutes and handed out a pair of assists on Solomon dunks before exiting the game for good with Price leading 60-34 with 5:05 left on the clock.

“When we walked in the gym, our kids were wide-eyed,’’ Roanhaus said. “We got them to relax. It’s just a game. It wasn’t like we we’re going to miss a mortgage payment or the kids weren’t going to get fed before bed. We never ended up settling down.’’

Ross finished with nine points. Kier Spencer had 12 for the Lions. Blair Holiday added 10. Taylor Hange ended up with 11.

Trujeque had a game-high 16 points for the Knights. Crabbe had nine
