I just noticed that UNC and NAU are coming to town this weekend. Let's get to the Brick and cheer our guys to a 2-0 start!

I have a bad feeling that we are really going to miss Divaldo this year. Cody Anderson must become a force underneath and not just a big man taking up space.
The rest of team seems to be playing well

A couple notes:
Northern Colorado who comes in on Friday is one of the hottest teams in the Big Sky right now along with Montana, it is going to be a very tough game for the Men.
The Friday Game is a double header with the Women's team. The Women Bobcats are taking on Gonzaga which should really be a great game to attend, so show up early for the women's game and stick around for the men's, these are going to be two tough games for both programs and they could use a good crowed to get things cooking.

mslacat,
Do you have any information reguarding Larry Swan?
Also, who is going to redshirt this season

We're going to miss Divaldo this year. A lot.
I've been a little disappointed in the lack of big man recruiting we have done. I hope Swita doesn't turn out to be a bust but he has a ton of work to do. I honestly don't know how the coaches think he is Big Sky material. Sorry. I have been less than impressed with him.
Cody Anderson will be solid, but he needs to work on his conditioning. He seems to be our only true center, minus Swita. And as much as I like Jeff Budinich, he will need to bulk up a bit and work on his toughness down low. I think he would be a perfect PF if we can get another good 6'11"-ish center in that can play with him next year.
I know we got Brumwell to come in next year (listed at 6'8"), but will he be able to transition to a quality BSC center from high school?. He seems to be another solid PF and I hope he can transition to the center position in college pretty easy. I am actually pretty excited to see him here I just don't know exactly how refined his skills are.
But anyway, I sit here and watch the play of the dominant teams in the BSC and I can't help but see how good their frontcourt's are. They have better quality big men and I hope we can improve upon that. When the Cats were vying for the top spot in the conference in year's past we have had players like Divaldo, Al Beye, and Nate Holmstadt to hold it down. I don't see us with those type of players right now.
I do love the guys we have had coming in at the 1, 2, and 3-spot positions, but I think we need to get a true, quality center if we're going to consistently contend for a #1 seed in the tourney. Sorry for the rant. I don't mean to sound overly critical of this team. I know we have a lot of talent and I think we can go far, but I think we have a lot to improve upon.

I agree with longhorn_22. I remember how much it helped when Coach Durham brought in Damir Latovic (2001-2002) out of the blue. A quality big man like Latovic makes all the difference in the world. Too bad he only stayed for one year. Latovic is now playing pro ball in Greece.

Speaking of Swita, can anyone provide some insight on him?
I haven't seen any games this year so I'm in the dark.
Is he playing at all or still injured?
Is he practicing?
The website indicates he's a redshirt freshman...is that right?
I remember a few years ago, we all thought Al Beye was going to be a bust, but all of a sudden things clicked and he ended up being one of the best big men in the conference. Hopefully that will be the case with Swita...especiall if he's only a freshman..

He's too timid. He seems kind of lost and doesn't know what to do exactly all the time. He definitely has potential but something has to change.
