Jordan Castaneda Commits to the Bobcats

Post by mslacat » Tue Dec 22, 2009 2:01 pm

I have confirmed it with three sources, that Jordan Castaneda of Huntington Beach high school in Huntington Beach California has committed to the Bobcat Basketball Program. Jordan is a junior currently and will sign with the Bobcats in the fall of 2011. Castaneda is a 6-3 190 pound point guard who is playing who has grown 2-3 inches in the last 9 months. Because of his size and shooting, he has the ability to play the shooting guard spot, and possibly the small forward spot in college if he continues to grow a little. It should be noted though he is a pure point guard.

Castaneda averaged 4 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds last year off the bench as a sophomore last year, but really came into his own this past summer. So far this season he is averaging 10 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds a game playing all three perimeter positions

From what I understand this is very good high school. The Oilers. I wonder how they got that name? The first high school with a surfing team.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Cleaning up oil spills on Hunington Beach!!!

It is nice that he has committed as a junior but there is nothing binding is there???? He ends up averaging 20 points and 10 assists he is going to blow us off and go elsewhere isn't he??

Yes, that's always possible, but why dwell on that? He could also average 25 points and 15 boards and not blow us off. :)

Huntington Beach is the actual "Surf City USA" from the Beach Boy song. If you haven't been there there are miles and miles of beautiful white, sandy beach; a bit south of LA. Sort of hard to imagine a Surf City Boy playing basketball in Bozeman. Like a kid from Eskimo High, Alaska playing baseball in Los Angeles.
