I hope we get as nice a crowd as we had tonight-it would look good on TV. Sunday afternoon so probably not-but one can hope.

So what's Eastern got? Looking at their schedule, it looks like they played better early in the season and slipped a little lately. Looking at the heights and weights on their roster they look to be pretty big across the front line-like they have 3 Cody Andersons to our 1. Of course they also have Benny Valentine-point guard extraordinaire. Navarre and Bynum need to keep him contained.

You kidding me it's on TV? I'm in Billings and was just gonna listen on the radio. Now I have the TV Option. If I leave now I can make it for tip-off in Bozeman... Ok I think I'm leaving - watching the Cats play home games this year has been great - Here's to another pounding of a BigSky team at the Brick! Do It CATS!

I'm headed up to the Fieldhouse in 10 minutes or so...it's going to be a great day for a game!
If the guys played like they did on Friday night, it should be a fun afternoon. And should they win, how about a 5-1 conference record!

Story of 2 halves.
Great first half, now playing real lazy in the 2nd. Better get it together or we are going to lose this one.

That was ugly. This will hurt. Can't lose at home against FAR less talent.

Cats lose by 2...
Freshman Glenn Dean had 22 points including the game winner with 3.8 to go. He's going to be a tough player for the next 3+ years.
Mslacat probably knows the story better than I do, but I believe that Huse recruited Dean out of High School, but I don't think Dean qualified academically. He went to a prep high school out east for a year, to gain eligibility and then signed on with Eastern.

Eastern certainly does not suck, but it was still a disappointing loss because it was at home.

He signed with PSU out of highschool and after he went to the prep school he changed to Eastern.

I just got back from the Bozone. First game at the field house since 1993. My quick thoughts are I thought we went cold into the second half and couldn't pull away. Every time we would get a 6 or 7 point lead and had possesion to stretch the lead, we would miss a shot or turn it over. The Eastern would pull back in within 3 points. A lot of our shots looked good but would rim out. Seemed like Eastern were hitting their 3's....

A terrible loss to be sure. Probably ends any consideration of winning the league regular season-but if every team we play is going to shoot lights out in the Fieldhouse anyway we may as well play the conference tournament somehwere else.
It comes down to making baskets. Down the stretch they did, whilst our hoop had a lid over it. Bynum couldn't buy one all second half-and unfortunately he was the one who ended up taking the last shot.
No reason to fold the tent-just win enough games to make the tournament and then see what happens.

I dunno about that. The sky isn't falling. But these next two conference games are REALLY important for the Cats. Gotta find a way to beat a much improved Hornets team in Sacto next weekend, then MUST hold serve at home against the Griz on the 23rd. These are MUST WIN games if we have any shot to host the tourney.
I just looked it up, because it seems to me that MSU MBB plays very poorly in afternoon games in the Fieldhouse. Since the 2003-2004 season we sit at 4 wins versus 6 losses in home afternoon games. With a record like that, methinks we need to quit scheduling afternoon home games and stick to the night games.
