Cats up 38-21 with who knows how much left (can't see on BSTV).

'Cats were up 15 at the under 12:00 media timeout and then got outscored by 22 to end the game. Very disappointing start to conference play so far for a team that showed so much promise early on.

Caught the very tail end on BSTV, sounded like the Cats blew a 20 point lead...............

Sorry, folks. This one's my fault. I put the game on my radio after the men's game, and they were up 15. I must be a bit of a jinx.

It sounds like MSU went cold and Portland State got hot, and it's tough to keep a player like Claire Faucher down. Portland State has a very good team. Katie Bussey had 16 in the first half, and finished the game with 16, I believe. They have a tough turn around to play Eastern Washington tomorrow, and I hope they can win that one.

I think that there are a combination of little things going on with the lady cats this year that have kept them from winning some games. I think that both Perry and Bussey are struggling a little bit more than expected. Sarah Strand is playing lights out from game to game. This team has a ton of new players that are very talented but they are getting used to Big Sky play.

The biggest thing that I see is that this team has to develop that mental toughness necessary to win in this conference. You see it in how the men's team play and how they never let up. The ladies team has stretches where they let up every now and then and it has caught up with them in a few games

How can you not be excited about this freshman class with Semansky, Schmidt, and Albert playing a vital role this early in their career?

Yes...they are very young and talented...but not battle tested and it has taken it's toll in the first few games. When the opponent makes adjustments to take Katie away they seem to not know where to go except to Erica and you can't win games with your point guard playing 1 on 4!

Sara Strand needs to pick up some of the slack or start to post up one of the freshmen. Allie Schmidt needs to find her offensive game if she's gonna be a starter. Katie has let the game come to her and does fine as long as everyone is participating....but she is not experienced enough to take over a game yet, and when they concentrate on stopping her...we get real one dimensional.
