Cats vs. Cal State Bakersfield

Bakersfield has only won twice-but they may be getting the Bobcats at a good time. Yesterday's conference game was hard fought, and no doubt got all the scouting. I would expect Huse to give a lot of minutes to the bench guys. Could this be Piepoli's night?

Essentially the result is meaningless-but it could be a productive game if we can work on some things and get some other guys going.

That's exactly what I was thinking... Tonight could be a great night to work the bench guys with some additional minutes.

No game is meaningless when you're aiming for the Final Four  .

Hope the Cats have a good game, haven't had time to see if there's a video feed anywhere. This one might be radio only.

There's one from the CSUB website-it costs $2.99.

Any news on Rush is he hurt Lasky said he was in sweats? Also like them going big with Henderson, Howard, and Johnson may need that against griz. Great to see Bobby getting his shooting grove back. Keep it up Cats =D^ =D^

Well, when you play like Sh!t, you lose the game, even to a 2-14 team. Worst game of the season by the Cats. NOT a good way to start Cat/Griz week. What a piss poor performance. Guess it's time for our usual mid-season slide. Damn it sure gets old....

I am soooo sick of Bynum and Navarre playing for the stat sheet and costing us games!!! Bynum and Navarre need to get rid of the 1 on five game. We never worked it inside the entire second half. Why can't they understand if you establish an inside game their jobs will be easier. Those two are the most SELFISH players on the team and maybe in the league. They want to be the heros but could careless if we win. Louff came in and played very well the first half the kid finished with 4 assists, when is Huse going to take those two to task he has no problem doing it with the rest of this team. Again Huse's subbing is a mind blower. #-o #-o I am pissed this should have been a nice road win leading us into Cat - Griz

Bynum shows flashes but Navarre might be hopeless. Point guards should distribute especially ones with no jumper. When was the last time you saw a big man post though. They all seem to be happy taken the outside jumper. We have no interior toughness what so ever. We will continue to lose games because of toughness on the boards. We even have a 280 lb big man that would rather shoot threes then post up. Of course in his case he has nothing to offer post move wise anyways. I haven't seen Huse do anything recruiting wise to fix this problem either.

What happened to the 7 footer(Swita?) that was brought in? Is he injured or something? I would think any help we could get inside at this point would be helpful.

Swita must be a major work in progress if Huse doesn't think he would be able to help us, even though we get owned on the boards almost nightly.

I think "major" is the key word there...

He is undersized in there but Howard had the first 6 points of the game inside and last week against EWU big guys he seemed to score well. In a news conference here in Spokane last week EWU coach prasied Howard's ability to hurt you inside and out. Bynum and Navarre for whatever reason will not give a post feed to him inside. His passing from there is also something that EWu said was huge because he will find the kick out.

Last night I went on Cal States web page and pulled up the line by line summary and for over half the second half only NAvarre and Bynum took a shoot or touched the ball. Also more alarming was the stat line Howard one shot in the second half Johnson one shot in the second half and Rush two. 3 of our starters and scores only combine for 4 shots. As many of said we play best when all five on the floor work together and distribute the ball. This type of selfishness by these guys will cost us a lot of games down the stretch because neither of them or any of the others have the potential to carry a team. They win when they play as a team. I am tired of the Bynum fly down the court one on 5 and hope the refs bail him out because they are on to him and they are not bailing him out.

i agree with you to a point but i think the issue is much bigger than just these two. unfortunately i think this team plays pretty selfish all across the board. i don't think it's intentional, but rather they just seem to not have confidence in one another. frankly i think that is worse. there are nights when bobby gets his 15 shots off too, some of which are very questionable. we have no big guys whatsoever, so there is zero faith in those guys. it's a rare sight when someone actually makes the extra pass to get a better shot. more times then not they toss it around the perimeter for a bit, then whoever has the ball with 10 seconds left on the shot clock gets ready to go one-on-however many guys are in that area to score. not a recipe for success. i think they have a solid team inregards to the rest of the big sky. no one is really scaring anyone. but if they can't address this issue, become more team oriented, and make it a group effort on the boards, our wins will be few and far between.
