RENO - Despite Internet reports to the contrary, Hug's Tre Johnson has not yet verbally committed to play for Montana State.
Parsing the Wac reported that Johnson had committed to play for the Bobcats; according to one of their coaches.
Tre's mother, Tonya, called KOLO-TV on Thursday to dispute the reports. Ms. Johnson says that Montana State is one of a handful of schools recruiting her son, but that he has not yet made his final choice.
The 6-foot-7 Johnson is expected to make his decision by sometime next week.
He was an all-state player at Hug High School, averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game his senior season

Good news! I assume we can expect to see your interview with Tre Johnson by the end of the day?

I hope you guys do end up getting him! I'm really happy to see how well most of the teams in the Big Sky are doing (according to ESPN's rating system) recruiting this year. If you compare it to a couple years ago, the Big Sky has really improved.

I wish. I've been trying the last four days. When a kid doesn't have a cell phone and his coach doesn't return calls, it makes things really difficult.

That's usually not a good sign. But I keep telling myself you're Will C. Holden and if you say it's true, then it must be true. In Will I Trust.

Very. Sounds like he has a lot of potential for improvement, which isn't always so common with basketball players compared to football.

It sucks we lost out on Nichols but we definitely need a player like Tre on our team that can pound the boards and get and down the floor.
It would be nice if we could develop another player like Branden Johnson that can shoot from the outside and rebound.
