From MSU-
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Games in UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion and Iowa State’s Hilton Coliseum and a season-opening appearance in Hawaii’s Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic highlight Montana State’s non-conference schedule during the 2010-11 season, which Bobcat coach Brad Huse announced on Thursday.
MSU’s trip to Hawaii marks the program’s first in-season tournament away from Worthington Arena, and pits the Bobcats against host Hawaii in the first outing. In addition to the trip to Hawaii and games against the legendary programs from UCLA and Iowa State, the Bobcats host Cal Poly and San Francisco in November, and also welcome an ESPN The Magazine Bracket Buster game to Worthington Arena on February 19. The Bobcats launch a difficult early-season three-game road swing by playing at Iowa State on November 27, travel to Seattle two days later, and square off with Illinois State in Normal, IL, on December 4. MSU’s trip to UCLA proceeds a game at UC Riverside on Dec. 19.
“This is a challenging schedule and it should prepare us for the rigors of conference play,” Huse said. “We have some attractive home games and our road schedule is extremely challenging and will really test our guys. We’re looking forward to the Hawaii Tip-off tournament as it has a great field and of course playing in Pauley Pavilion will be a special opportunity for our team.”
Montana State opens league play against two-time defending league regular season champion Weber State on December 29 before hosting a New Year’s Eve game against NAU at 4 pm.

The frequent flyer account balances will get a nice boost on this road trip! Otherwise, hooray for the return of all Thursday/Saturday scheduling and no early December conference games.

Re: 2010-2011 MBB Schedule
Too bad our non-conference schedule doesn't have anyone at home from the WAC or PAC-10. I simply don't understand why we can't get some games against bigger names that will get some good attendance numbers and create early interest in bobcat hoops. Until conference games start, this schedule does little for me at all.

Re: 2010-2011 MBB Schedule
well until we put a NCAA tournament caliber team on the court, why would any PAC 10 or even WAC team come to Bozeman?
