I have heard that Tricia Binford's Bobcats have landed one (if not #1) recruiting prospect for the 2012 in Twin Bridge's (I got it right this time Gidal) 5-9 Peyton Ferris. Ferris reciecved multiple D-1 offeres from though out the Western US, but last I heard was leaning on staying in state to play her college ball. The Lady Griz and the Bobcats were in a dog fight to secure her services, but she finally choose to go with the Bobcats.

The top two recruits in the State of Montana for 2012 are considered to be Peyton Ferris and Ellison Tinkle (Big Sky HS). Tinkle is receiving the most national press but many feel Ferris is her equal. Bozeman's Shanae Gilham is also considered to be one of the better prospects in the 2012 class.

When do you expect her to sign a LOI? Is that something that can be done this spring or does she have to wait until fall?

Ferris will sign this coming November as she is just finishing up her Junior year of High School. She will join the program for the 2012-13 season. Huge Get for the Bobcats, the Lady Griz staff really really wanted her and held back scholarships (as did the Bobcats) from this year in hopes of landing Ferris, Tinkle, Giliam and Klinker (already committed) in some combination.

I can not boo from the coaching staff.
Mslacat: Brad what you having for lunch?
Brad: Well you know I am studying my options and trying to determine my needs, before I make any decisions. I may have lunch or I may not it all depends on what happens. It is very important that I do have lunch, but I do not want to rush into anything.

Didn't Gilham tear her ACL at the state tournament? Others have come back from injury, but never a for sure thing with knee injuries (particularly it seems with female basketball players).

Gilham's knee injury has hurt her stock, and I think some programs are waiting to see how she bounces back.

Makes sense. She's an extremely nice player, but the thing that caught your eye with her was not her athleticism, and a knee injury may make it even more of a question mark at the D1 level.

Further proof that Coach Binford is really doing a great job building up the women's program when we can go head to head vs Griz in recruiting homegrown talent. Probably helps that Coach Binford played PG in the WNBA and can really develop Peyton's game.
