Most of what I am posting I have posted on my twitter page over the past 4-6 weeks with and is an update on some rumored Bobcat recruit targets.

Ty Egbert 6-9 pf/C Lake Roosevelt high school in Washington. Is said to have offers from Boise State, Idaho, Nevada, and Washington State. Montana and Montana State. Has that elusive quality coaches love right now: length (meaning he has long arms and can play bigger than his height) better athlete than many expect and runs the floor well. Has official visits scheduled for Boise State, on Sept 23rd and Montana State for October 1st. Don't be surprised if Montana schedules an official visit the day before or after his Montana State visit. ESPN rating 88

Sekou Wiggs 6-3 SG O'Dea high school in Washington state, athletic scorer. Cal Irvine, Cal Poly, Idaho, Portland St. and San Francisco have offered, UC Davis is trying to get him down for an official visit. I hear both Montana and Montana State have been recruiting and depending on who you talk to depends which school is more serious. I have been told he will take an official to "one of the Montana schools" but I am not sure which one. ESPN rating 88

Jalen Ward 5-10 PG O'Dea high school in Washington state, Another kid who helped his stock this summer. A pass first point guard but has deep range, athletic and fast. Sounds like a Casey Trujeque type player. His size (5-10 might be generous), or lack there-of is the major question mark on him. Montana St., Boise State, Washington St. and Cal St. Santa Barbara are all showing a lot of interest right now. MSU has been recruiting him the longest I am told.

Eric Turner 6-10 C Northeast JC in Nebraska. A big surprise of the summer have a lot of programs scrambling to get involved with him He has a strong body and decent athleticism for a player of his size (6-10 230), has a reputation as a shot blocker. Currently Ball State, Western Illinois University, Eastern Illinois University, Montana State, Arkansas State and Central Michigan are all trying to get him on their campus's for visits

Jal Rial 6-4 SG/SF St Cloud high school in Minnesota Has played the past few years in Bartlet Alaska but transferred to Minnesota over the summer. Played for a Minnesota AAU team this summer and opened some eyes. Very athletic and quick player decent shoot but is starting to scratch the surface of his potential. UC Riverside, Maine, Montana State, Chattanooga are currently showing an interest.

I believe the Bobcats are also recruiting the JC ranks pretty hard and info is tough to come by there, but keep your eyes on the Wyoming and Texas JC ranks.

Have to add a player to the list. I thought the Bobcats had to be interested in him but had not heard any confirmed info on the kid and I also did not know if they would be interested in a point guard this year, but I have it from multiple sources that the Bobcats recently offered him.

Marcus Colbert 5-11 PG Post Falls Idaho. Cobert played two years with current Bobcat Shawn Reid at Post Falls. Colbert's father and head coach at Post Falls also has multiple connections with both the Griz and Bobcat programs/coaches. I beleive he camped this summer for the Bobcats, but I am not sure, but he did tear it up at the Griz Elite camp this summer and was the best player I saw there (granted I only saw a a few games). Colbert is a very explosive play maker who can create his own shot or those of his team mates. Athletic and quick is most likely the leading canidate for the Idaho 5A player of the year. Averaged 16 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 4.9 apg last season. I beleive the Bobcat coaches offered him this past Friday or Saturday. Montana I am told offered him during their camp and have been very active, but may not be in the market currently for a point. Idaho & Idaho state have been very active and I have heard that Washington State has been sniffing around as well.

Trey Dickerson 6-1 PG Dickerson is originally from Queens New York, played for Montclair Prep in California last season but will play for Price high school in Los Angeles this year. Price is the same high school that former Bobcat Casey Trujeque played at. Dickerson averaged 18 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds last season for Montclair. Sounds like the Montana State coaches were in for a visit yesterday and Fresno State will be in possibly Monday. There is some indication that the Bobcats may have offered him at their visit. Dickerson is scheduled to take an official visit to Montana State on October 1st – 2nd. That should be the same week end that 6-9 Ty Egbert is scheduled to visit Montana State. A lot of schools seem to be recruiting Dickerson but aside from MSU, San Diego State and Fresno State seem to be MSU main competition, but Arizona State, Florida International, Memphis, Seton Hall, San Francisco, UNLV, Washington, and Washington State have also been showing an interest.

On an update I was told by Brett Swan of Jucojunction.com that the Montana coaches we at NortheastNebraska JC earlier this week for an in home visit with 6-10 Eric Tucker.

We interrupt the football season with a little Bobcat news

I have heard from a couple sources that the Bobcats had a couple recruits in this past week end (September 16-17). One of them was Jake Belford of Battleground high school in the state of Washington. Belford is a 6-9 center forward who seems to have gone on a growth spurt as of ate. As a sophomore he was listed at 6-5, junior 6-7 and over the summer he has been consistently listed at 6-9.

Belford has range out to three point range but does not shy away from contact inside. With long arms, he is a pretty good passer and has a reputation as hard working “coachable” player. He was voted the top performer at the Washington State Elite camp this past summer.

Belton has seen his stock rise considerably as he has hit the 6-9 range, but is still somewhat of unknown outside of the northwest. As of late last summer I heard he had offers from Wyoming and Lafayette with Rice, Washington State and Portland showing a lot of interest. I have been told he has picked up a few more offers since than including Montana State and possible Eastern Washington, but I have not been able to confirm.

This will be an interesting recruit. Belford is one of those typical 6-9 to 6-10 recruits who Montana State and Montana recruit for over an extended period of time , but see him snatched away when a WAC/MW/PAC12 swoops in late, dazzles the recruit as they look for an insurance big man. Typically the guy will sit on the bench 2-3 before transferring out, when they recruit over the top of him.
