Who Would Win?

If our girls team played our guys team, who would win?


I'm gonna have to take the girls team.

I'm hoping you're kidding. The men would win by 50. I saw a scrimmage a few years ago where the men's intramural champions beat the MSU women's team. By more than a few baskets.

If not, he's drinking. I was a good (certainly not great) HS BB player. I briefly dated a Lady Griz player while I was at UM and befriended nearly everyone on the LG team. A group of my buddies and I would get together and scrimage with the Ladies during the off-season. Most of us played in HS, but none of us were stars. We would generally beat the women, and that was a LG team that won something like 26 games. This is NO knock on women's basketball, which I think is terrific. It's simply biology.

Now, if it had been a regular practice with drills on fundamentals?? The guys would have looked like a bunch of Rain Men out there.

Fundamentals
Team chemistry
Ability to get and down the court (relative to competition)
Leadership
Balance of scoring
Coaching
Style of play matching talent on floor

Then the ladies would kick our men's team up and down the floor. Unfortunately in real life it wouldn't be close.

The Girls would win, IF the two teams had a layup contest, a 3 point shooting contest, a free throw shooting contest, or a "team chemistry" contest.

That's what I was going to say...take away the men's size and strength and the women would probably beat them.
