Yeah, I caught that too. You'd think the huge Cat head at center court and the "msubobcats.com" on each baseline would be a hint. Not to mention the cheerleaders screaming "Cats!"
They just caught themselves and apologized. Someone must have whispered in their ears.

Having a hard time getting anything to fall. Can't believe they missed that dunk.

Were up 14 a couple different times. Now 66-63. Settling for a lot of long jumpers, those aren't falling. Look totally out of synch. Throwing up long 3 pointers and a shot clock violation. Its just a mystery how this team goes on great runs and look to be putting a team away, then the next thing you know they're in a 3 point game. A tale of two different teams.

Cats will pull it off. Another jekel and hyde performance.

And they did pull it off. Hit their free throws down the stretch. 72-65.

The whole outfit is frustrated. Coach, players, and fans. We had a sequence mid-way through the second half where we threw it away a couple of times and missed a dunk on fast breaks which turned around to layups for them. It was a chance to blow the game open and the opposite happened. Then you could just see them tighten up. Our salvation was an offensive foul call on them with about 37 seconds to go. Sac had the ball and a chance to tie with a three. Their coach called a timeout to set something up-even though they were in a nice offensive flow. Right out of the timeout their guy ran over Singleton and it was our ball. Coaches do that a lot and I don't know why-let the players play!
We almost lost it against their press, but Singleton was fouled with the ball and hit the free throws. The offensive foul call on them was a good call-but we were lucky for sure.
This was an important win for getting us in the Big Sky tournament.

Watching the replay. Good God our student section is apathetic. I miss when I was there. We had a damn good group attending games.

That indeed was me. They did it a couple times during the pre-game, too.

Jekell and Hyde is right. Good thing, if it can be counted as one, is that the team knew how to react after having been through it at least 3 times during the season, if not more. Bad thing is they're still making mistakes and as a team-affiliated person said, "When we miss two or three in a row, you know we're going to miss a lot over the next three to five minutes." I also heard the "we're still learning how to play with big leads" from Huse himself, and that statement -

It's sort of true because they've only had 12-plus point leads in a handful of games, but it shouldn't be that way against the bottom feeders. A win is a win, but Huse was visibly frustrated at points with his team - the flubbed dunk for one, along with a handful of bad shots during Sac State's run. More in the postgame blog later.

i for one am happy with how this team is playing. they are surpassing my expectations which i admit weren't that high to begin with. at least not this season. so while i'm not in awe of beating teams like nau and sac....i'm happy because i could easily see this team losing to teams like that. there is no doubt this team is improving though which is clearly a positive. we have quietly won 4 of our last 5 games and while they have been against the bottom of the league, for this team....."a wins a win"!
this next part of our schedule will be tougher. still got psu and ewu on the road which won't be easy. and sac and unc on the road which i would think should be wins....but like i said, nothing is a sure thing with this team. and certainly going to missoula will be difficult. but we get them at home, along with weber, and we still get isu and unc here so i would think we should be able to at least split there.
like i said, it's all about what your expectations were coming in. i wasn't hating on this team, but i certainly felt that this would be a difficult season for us and getting in the conference tourney wasn't a given. but so far at least, we are beating the teams we should beat, and staying competitive against teams like weber who shold beat us simply because they are better. in my opinion, just getting in the conference tourney is a success for this team, and i think they are on their way.
now whether or not i'm content with such low expectations is a different story. but just because i'm not thrilled with the overall state of the program....doesn't mean i don't applaud the efforts from the guys on the floor.
