To be fair...the article says blount was assaulted outside Bar IX. It doesn't say he was drinking or even inside the bar.

No, I know. I wasn't insinuating that Blount is at any way at fault. It's just not good - no matter how you slice it - that this happened outside of Bar IX.

Actually it says the Bar called the police after the bouncers found him laying on the back porch. I think the only way to be on the porch is through the bar. There is no back entrance.



Police were called to Bar IX on East Main Street around 1:15 a.m. where a bouncer said a man was found barely conscious on the back porch, according to police reports.

Colter also said that this topic could spread across this board which to me means FOOTBALL. I really hope not. we don't need our basketball team dragging down our football team now to. The football team is the only gold star we have right now other than Womens Basketball.

Sorry MSLA, it does seem like I am really bashing the Basketball Program, but really all I was hoping for was that it didn't involve any other student athletes from other sports. Right now MSU has made great strides in turning around the APR of other sports and it is just a shame to see a talented basketball player get hurt. Let alone implicate other athletes from two other sports. Just a bad situation all the way around.

Sad to hear about this, My thoughts and prayers are with him and hope for a speedy recovery.

RE BAR IX ETC AND varied INFORMATION...
1- my recollection is that bar IX does have a back entrance...
2- but that may not mean much in this instance; one report describes the entire altercation to have occurred in the alley
3- from what i have gathered 3 b-ball players were in one group and Trammell and Wilson were in the other
4- words were exchanged re a girl and things got physical with Trammell damaging Blount
5- the two other b-ball players were there but were not REALLY breaking any rules, if in fact everything occurred in the alley
6- Wilson was possibly not breaking rules at that moment but, at some point, used Minter's ID
7- It seems odd Wilson would be presenting ID if he were not trying to get in the bar
8- another rendition has the argument beginning in the bar but being taken outside, where Blount ended up on the porch
