Got a good game going. MSU is struggling to get Banis involved. Durham and Elliot are playing well as freshman. UM is getting a few calls going their way. Both teams are playing really good defense.

MSU 26
UM 26 5:24 left

UM 35
MSU 33 at halftime.

Bussey with 6 points
Elliot with 3 points and lots of rebounds.

Albert is having a good game.

If Albert could hit some more of her open shots and Banis can hit some free throws 0-4, they may be able to pull out the win.

Refs are turning a little bit of a blind eye to some of the Griz play.

The Cats are doing some things very well. I think if a few more shots fall, they'll be fine. It's tough that Semansky has 3 fouls and Banis has 2...that limits things in the post a little bit. All in all, it should be a good second half for the Cats.

The calls have been more even this half, although the refs somehow missed Ausha Cole getting kicked.

Biggest difference between two teams is that the Lady Griz have three-four really good post players that are scorers from that position. MSU has Semansky and sometimes Albert. Elliot plays great defense and rebounds but doesn't score a lot and Banis has a ton of potential but not playing up to it yet..still young.

Like what I am seeing out of Durham.

Obviously. What a stupid question.

I think he means something else. I can't tell you how many times a team wins twice in the season and then loses the third matchup in the tournament.

Hey, it could happen. Getting past a team three times is pretty hard. I think that the women's tournament could be won by anyone in the 1-5 positions, which would be ISU, Eastern Washington, UM, Northern Colorado, or MSU. I think the Cats will end up with the 4 or 5 seed, and they'll probably face UM or UNC in the first round. Hope is not lost for the ladies, but this one wasn't fun.

EWU, UM, and UNC all have 5 conference losses now, and EWU has to travel to ISU next Saturday (thanks to the odd schedule this year). It's possible UM or UNC finishes second if they win out, or if there is a 3 way tie, I believe UNC finishes second (they swept both UM and EWU). It's still possible for MSU to get a 3 seed. I'll go so far as to say any team from 1-6 could win the thing, especially if Sacramento State sneaks in at the 6 spot (they won their last four to finish the season).

Seedings won't matter in the tournament. The Lady Griz should make it to the championship game. They are playing really well right now and their scoring is coming from everywhere.

For the Bobcats to make a run they have to have a third and even a 4th player really explode in the scoring production. Whether that is Albert, Banis or whoever (need to get to 20 points) for them to make a run. Can't be just about Bussey and Semansky.

Just go to make their open shots that they were getting to.

For the cats to do anything they have to stop throwing possessions away, start playing smarter, and hopefully not have the inevitable scoring drought they have had lately for times during the game. They don't have much of a lane presence except Semansky and she has been getting smothered by the big team, Banis is just too weak to create space for herself underneath. Katie Bussey shoots too much from long range. If she's not hot she needs to go to the basket. The other shooters need to shoot instead of looking for Katie all the time. She did great and had big games when she let the game come to her....lately she's been trying to carry the team....not that they don't need it at times, but they won't win many games unless they play as a team. Kali Durham needs more minutes. Lately she has been more consistent from outside than Katie. I think Jackie Elliot is more of a talent than even she thinks. She needs to show it more often rather than deferring to Katie. Ashley Albert is the only one that I think is playing up to her potential. What happened to Ausha Cole and Latisha Adams taking the ball to the hoop?

I just noticed the Lady Cats have only 1 senior and 2 juniors on the entire roster. Wow! Good things to come for sure from Binford and co...
