http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/ap ... s/?p=10729 I'll find out more about Norman in the next day or so, along with who might be joining the staff. Biggest question I have is: who does this affect? There are now seven rostered forwards, two rostered centers and 16 total players on the roster. A Division I team is only allowed 13 scholarships, so something has to give.
ADDENDUM: As far as I know, MItchell Schwab and Steven Davis are current non-basketball scholarship players. Davis has academic/Native American scholarships that cover everything and Schwab is either paying his way or has academic scholarships or both. My only other thought is that the Montana boys - Brumwell or Robison - will be asked to relinquish it. But that's just a thought

Wow-sounds like a good get. I wonder if he can jack threes?

But seriously...since he was a SMU last year doesn't he have to sit out this season?

I think he might; the release didn't say. I'll ask Brad when I see him next, which should be sometime this week

My best guess would be either Brumwell will lose his scholarship, or Budinich is actually going to be kicked off the team for good (rather than just the suspension)....

Did he put on 3 inches and pack on 25lbs in the offseason? The article says much needed size at 6'9" 220lbs...
ESPN and the SMU roster has him listed at 6'6" 195.

He had some pretty impressive high school stats, so hopefully he's a good one. Haven't found much info on his ability to jack up the 3 though

I think I heard Brumwell is transferring to a smaller school.

I figured that. Since the Durham days our men's bball players are listed about 2" taller and 20 pounds heavier than they really are. I don't know why they do this-it's almost laughable.

From what I could gather he is available to play this year. He was released, along with others, by new coach Larry Brown.

I would be interested to see a stat on the retention percentage per year for players and also for coaches under Brad. It can't be very good, especially for players. MSU must turn over close to or above 50% of their roster every season. It seems like that is much higher than normal.

Does the APR apply to basketball?

From what I've gathered, Budinich, Davis and Schwab are the three non-scholarship players and Brumwell isn't going anywhere. The other stuff - retention rate of players and coaches - I will look into.

Yes. MBB is at 965. Loved Durham but he left with an 804.
I also noticed in one of Gidals B&G posts that Huse has not been given a contract extension. So, barring anything short of a miracle NCAA tournament run, this will be his last year. It will be interesting and potentially fun to see what happens this season.

Not sure how well it has been published but hearing that he will be eligible right away (which someone else posted in this thread, wanted to confirm I heard it also). Basically when Brown was hired at SMU, he said he could be on academic scholarship but not athletic scholarship, which would basically mean he wasn't part of the team. Needless to say, he transferred out of that situation.
