WBB vs. Tennessee State

If you want to see a Bobcat basketball team pile up wins, better check out the women's team. Tonight they beat Tennessee State 65-55. MSU had a cold shooting night for much of the game, from the field and the freethrow line, but they finally pulled away at the end. TSU was quick and scrappy, and had a player drain 4 or 5 threes. They had no answer for Rachel Semansky though, who had 20 points and 16 rebounds-and left a trail of destruction in her path.
This team has good chemistry, they're tough, and they work hard. I think when their freshmen, like Stockton, Ferris, and Hommes get a little more dialed in and used to D-1 speed they'll be pretty good. I just wish they had a little more height.
They're 6-1 right now, and have barely been at home.

Good to hear. They sound like a team that knows how to win. As in, if things aren't going well on the offensive end (shooting) don't let that drag you down on the defensive end and don't let that effect your ball movement.

Had the chance to be at the game last night, what a great effort! The men need to look no further than the Lady Cats to watch how a team plays together like a team. These gals really feed off each other. There is not a weak link on this Lady Cats squad. Semansky is so tough down low. Once they started feeding the rock to her, it was all over. Rechel Carter is a hustle machine. She got to so many loose balls and kept play alive. I was a little concerned when the game first started, as Tenn. State had a lot of team speed and their press was pretty nasty. TSU knocked down an awful lot of 3 balls also. Nice to watch a team and a coach who can adapt to what their opponent is giving them and make the right adjustments.

And they'd be 7-0 if they hadn't blown a 10 point lead in the last 2 minutes against SMU. I am definitely looking forward to watching them play against Wyoming on Saturday afternoon! Binford seems to have done a great job of recruiting, so hopefully we can get over the hump in the Big Sky Tournament one of these years.

It is really competitive on the women's side of the Big Sky conference. This may be one of the most athletic teams that MSU has ever put on the floor. I really like the talent in the freshman class that Coach Binford signed. Being able to go 12 deep and not lose any momentum is huge.
