WBB vs. Wyoming

I thought I'd bring up this game today. The Bobcats take on the University of Wyoming at 2 pm in Worthington Arena. I think both teams are 6-1 to start the season, and Wyoming is coming off of a 2 point win in Missoula on Thursday. I think that it's Wyoming's first trip here since 1999 or so. MSU won on Monday against Tennessee State, and they've just done very well this year, winning most of the games away from home. This should be a fun game to watch. If you're in the area and you've thawed after yesterday's game, the football tickets will get you a free ticket to this game. Go Cats!

MSU did a great job to be up 6 at half, but Wyoming played excellent defense in the second half and was able to pull away even though they weren't exactly lighting it up either. Semansky foul trouble really hurt MSU as no other inside player can match her rebounding and defense.

It seems to me that Coach Binford is set on playing a deep lineup and frequently rotating players in and out. I can understand the advantages of having good depth, but sometimes when we have an experienced lineup in that is in a groove, the change seems to disrupt the run we are making.
I'm no coach, but I just wonder if this is the best strategy. If you have a great player who is rebounding and scoring well and has only been in for about four minutes, is it really a good idea to take them out and replace them with a freshman?
It will be interesting to see if this strategy continues once we start BSC play.

At the Western game coach Binford told the boosters that this year she isn't substituting just to give starters a rest....she feels she could start any of about 12 players and they are interchangeable....some just contribute different things than others. I agree that Semansky and Brumwell should be out there if possible though.
