All I can say is yikes. Men and Women. Season can't end soon enough.
We'll be lucky to win one more game the rest of the way I'm afraid.RickRund wrote:Actually I think the season is OVER. Wow.....
Don't worry, next year MSU will bring in 6 or 7 new JC transfers and everything will be just great! Book those season tickets now.BelgradeBobcat wrote:Well that's it for me. I'm done for the season. The good news is I won't be wasting any more money on tickets and concessions the rest of the season. See y'all in 2013-14...maybe.
I know...every stupid season I come back thinking maybe this is the year. I think I'm really over it now. There's just too much other stuff to do.MSU01 wrote:Don't worry, next year MSU will bring in 6 or 7 new JC transfers and everything will be just great! That about sums it upWorse than 81-59 loss at Iowa State (Nov. 27, 2010); or 80-41 loss at Fresno State (11/29/06 or 07). 2nd worst loss in Huse's tenure

It took 39 minutes and 53 seconds, but MSU breaks 50 points against Idaho State. 87-51 is final. #bigskymbb

From what I found, MSU has played at least 3 games under Huse in Pocatello where it hsan;t scored more than 50 points. 2nite might be 4th

7:55 left, MSU at 37 points. Worst loss in Huse era: 91-46 (minus-45) to UNM in 2011 at Albuquerque. 72-37 (minus-35) right now, Idaho State
I was done in november. This team has very little D1 talent, no leaders, and is poorly coached. They were doomed from the get go.BelgradeBobcat wrote:Well that's it for me. I'm done for the season. Jamie Stewart needs to pull his head out of his ass. His vocabulary/grammar/English is an embarrassment and so is his attitude.wbtfg wrote:I was done in november. Anyone see jamie stewarts tweets tonight? This "team" is made up of primarily immature, self serving individuals. The ironic part is, they arent very talented.
I like egwanou, colbert, and (sometimes) davis. The rest need to go to naia or the playground.
Actually, what's even more ironic, is that just a couple of weeks ago, people were saying how well these guys were playing together as a team, how hard they were playing every night, how they all seemed to be buying into Huse's system, how he was getting the absolute best out of his players, how the team really looked "different" from previous seasons, and they were certain that there'd be no February swoon this year. I would like to hear Colter or someone ask Huse directly about his teams' annual late season nosedives, and I'd be really curious to hear his excuse/explanation. I don't know that anyone in the media has ever actually called him out about this, and I think it's time that someone did just that.wbtfg wrote:I was done in november. I asked Huse about the second half swoons before the second half began in this article:John K wrote:Actually, what's even more ironic, is that just a couple of weeks ago, people were saying how well these guys were playing together as a team, how hard they were playing every night, how they all seemed to be buying into Huse's system, how he was getting the absolute best out of his players, how the team really looked "different" from previous seasons, and they were certain that there'd be no February swoon this year. And the women lost their 6th straight by 19 points, which means MSU's two BB teams lost by a combined 55 points last night. And it's not like either one of them lost to powerhouse teams. The men lost by 36 to last place ISU, and the women lost by 19 at home to a team that had approximately the same record as them. In reference to another thread, I would have to say that last night may have been the worst night in the history of MSU hoops.
Just last week, TomCat stated that he believed the MSU men had a legitimate chance to win the tourney. and even at that time I thought he must have been on crack for having said that. Now it's probably no more than 50-50 that we'll even get into the tourney, which is amazing for a team that was once 7-5 in conference, playing in a league in which 7 of 11 teams make the field.
Well then, I think it's time to ask him again, because he was obviously very wrong. And I guess I'd like to see something a bit more direct and pointed, such as why does this happen every season? Why has his staff been unable to figure out why this happens year after year after year, and taken steps to prevent it? I know he probably wouldn't have any answers to these questions, or else he would have already taken such steps, but I'd still like to hear his response to questions such as these.Colter_Nuanez wrote:I asked Huse about the second half swoons before the second half began in this article:John K wrote:Actually, what's even more ironic, is that just a couple of weeks ago, people were saying how well these guys were playing together as a team, how hard they were playing every night, how they all seemed to be buying into Huse's system, how he was getting the absolute best out of his players, how the team really looked "different" from previous seasons, and they were certain that there'd be no February swoon this year. Here's the quote
“I don’t anticipate there will be (a dip) because our guys understand the value of all these games,” Huse said. “Halfway through league doesn’t mean anything. You want to be in good position, which I think we are. This is the fun part of the season because the game all means so much now.”
The questions will be asked, John K. Have no fear. This is my first season covering them. I couldn't ask about a presumed February swoon until it was in fact happening. It's happening now. Check back next Tuesday.John K wrote:Well then, I think it's time to ask him again, because he was obviously very wrong. Actually, we could have predicted how this season would play out (and some of us did) as soon as last season was over, and I'll predict next season's results right now (assuming that Huse is back for another year). It'll start with the program losing several players over the summer, and then...well we've all seen this movie seven times, so we're all pretty familiar with the plot line by now, and it's not one of those movies where they shoot several alternate endings.ilovethecats wrote:ha. not surprising at all. some of us have been saying exactly how this season would play out back in december. we were told we were wrong. that this was a different team than what we saw in november. we you know what? we were right on the money. this is the same cat team we saw last year. and the year before. and the year before that. and the year before that....
this team i not very good. maybe not as bad as they were last night....but still not good. i said back then that i prayed this year would be different and i wouldn't be able to say "i told you so". but....i told you so.
cat basketball is at an all-time low.
