WBB: Carter Gone/ Roster
I have heard that reserve guard Rechel Carter has left the Bobcat Women's program and will not return for her senior year. This is an interesting development for Binford and the program not because Carter was an important star for the program but because it is another dependable body that will not be available next year. Carter was not an offensive star, but she did have some nice game on the offensive side, but she was one of the top defensive player last year and was very dependable coming off the bench.
The Bobcats last year lost two quality seniors this spring in Rachel Semansky (All-Conference) Latisha Adams (part time starter and real glue player). Additionally they have also lost Chelsea Banis (transfer to MSU-B) and now Carter which brings the losses upto a total of 4 player. Yet last year the only signed one recruit to add to the 203-14 team (JC shooting guard Michelle Seitz) That leaves Binford with only 12 scholarshipped players on the roster for 2013-14. Included in those 12 is sophomore 6-2 post Kayla Dewitt who has been on the court for 2 1/2 years due to injury, and it will be interesting to see if she can even help out this year. Binford also saw a pretty good walk-on guard Shayla Mack transfer to MT Western. I am fairly concerned that we spent an entire year recruiting and all we could come up with is a single JC player. On the plus side The Bobcats Ausha Cole will be back next year after redshirting last year. I have heard she dropped a little weight and is in the best condition of her career. This might have something to due with Carter's decision to leave. Freshman guard Magriteet Barhoum will also be coming off a redshirt and will get her chance to play significant minutes.
Word has it that newly hired Assistant Salvo Coppa is looking very hard to find another post that the Bobcats can sign this summer to add to the team, and I would guess given his back ground he is looking in internationally to do so.

Re: WBB: Carter Gone/ Roster
Was anyone recruiting any of Doug Hashley's daughters out of Kalispell? What ever happened to Holli? I see she is living in Studio City CA. I also see he has a daughter who was a sophomore last year named Cassidy. Is there another one who might have been a senior last year?

I just don't get it. I've heard good things about Tric. Nothing bad in particular. Seems like such a waste of time leaving right before your senior year. ](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Cassidy Hashley is a senior to be this coming year and yes she is being recruited by D-1 teams. Hashley's older daughter got a lot of basketball attention but mainly at the NAIA/D-2 level, but she prefered volleyball and I believe that is what she played in basketball.Helcat72 wrote:Was anyone recruiting any of Doug Hashley's daughters out of Kalispell? Doug has a younger son who I think will be a freshman this year and is already gathering some recruiting attention (along with Bobby Howard's baby brother).
Listen about Binford. She is known as a hard ass by her players, BUT she is also very respected by her players. Talk to players and you will find the chemistry is very good to great in the program. It is far better than the men's program.

Re: WBB: Carter Gone/ Roster
Well I have been wrong before, but the info comes from a good source, plus Carter's name (along with Banis's) has been taken off the MSU official roster.kyle_sample wrote:If she's leaving the program, she certainly hasn't left Bozeman

Is it good, bad, or sexist that the only thing that surprised me about this post was that it's about WBB and not the mens team?CelticCat wrote:Dismissed for violation of team rules per Mr. Sample twitter.

Re: WBB: Carter Gone/ Roster
Binford has a quick trigger when it comes to violation of team rules and she tends to pull it BEFORE it leads to serious trouble. A couple years ago she kicked two players off the team who were part time starters, both went on to have stellar careers at the D-2 level.BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote:Is it good, bad, or sexist that the only thing that surprised me about this post was that it's about WBB and not the mens team?CelticCat wrote:Dismissed for violation of team rules per Mr. Sample twitter.

I suppose that could explain why I have come not to expect serious misbehavior from the womens team.mslacat wrote:Binford has a quick trigger when it comes to violation of team rules and she tends to pull it BEFORE it leads to serious trouble. She may be quick to pull the trigger on violation of team rules, but we'll see if anything happens to a few players who posted a video indicating some underage drinking to a couple social media websites

I can't write anything until something comes out. I imagine it will just be part of the preview story for the Northridge game on Nov. 10

You should be able to write a story about it if you saw the video, shouldn't you? You basically just did. Did you make a copy of it? Where do we go to see it?kyle_sample wrote:Hawks86 wrote:You going to write a story about it ?kyle_sample wrote:mslacat wrote:Binford has a quick trigger when it comes to violation of team rules and she tends to pull it BEFORE it leads to serious trouble. Exactly. I'm not very impressed with Mr. Sample's professionalism (or should I say lack thereof). At least include a disclaimer on your post (allegedly is a good word to use) not just "we'll see if anything happens to a few players who posted a video indicating some underage drinking to a couple social media websites"...TomCat88 wrote:You should be able to write a story about it if you saw the video, shouldn't you?
